  1. I'm unable to post videos from photobucket anymore to the forum, BUT it allows it in a PM.? This is the error that I get, "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." It's the same img code/link on photobucket that I've always used and never had a problem before. Seems strange that it allows the same link to work in a PM, but not the forum.?
  2. Very nice! They should make the place interesting this year!
  3. About 3 years ago, I was sitting in my stand and watched something yellow come bobbing towards me through the thicket. A squirrel hopped out into the open and I could see it was carrying an ear of corn. It was a dead afternoon, so it kept me amused watching it hop around burying it in the leaves in several places, before digging it up again, and finding another/better spot for it. Probably did this 10x! It finally decided to bury the ear of corn ~10 yards directly in front of my stand, in the middle of the deer path! It kept looking up at me as it was covering the corn up with leaves, as if it thought it was doing me a favor! I couldn't help but chuckle, and think, "Dude! Are you trying to get me into trouble!?!?" Could just see myself trying to convince an ECON officer what REALLY happened! Damn squirrels!! LOL
  4. How many man-crushes do we have on Wooly right now?? STUD!!
  5. Geez, the door prizes and auction alone would make it worth attending! Hope you have a great turn out!
  6. Nice! I wonder if sand, gravel, or pea stone might work better than water? Just a thought...
  7. Does the camo face paint come off easily? Not sure I've ever tried it. If I did, it was probably ~30 years ago. The masks can be a pain in the ass sometimes, so maybe I should consider giving the face paint a try...
  8. I understand there's a lot of it in the county that my property is in, but I've never come across it... Thank God!
  9. His last seminar that I attended was at an environmental education center, so he does these at more than just churches.
  10. Checked the mulberry tree on the neighbors property 2 days ago. Only saw 1 mulberry!
  11. I went to one of Charlies sermons seminars ("Whitetail: Journey Through the Seasons") that was held somewhere in Rochester a few years ago. It was pretty heavy on religion, so if that bothers anyone, you might want to take it into consideration. I attended another seminar (Same one, "Whitetail: Journey Through the Seasons", but didn't know it would be the same one) ~5 years ago. He was more than happy to sign pictures and books for those that purchased before the seminar. After he gave his seminar , he said that he would accept "Two and only two questions." Of course, there were a lot of guys that had questions and wanted to know Charlies thoughts. After he gave very brief answers to the 2 questions, he darted back out to the display tables to sell more of his goodies. There was no time limit on the facility, so I don't know what his rush was all about. I think guys would have gotten more out of it if he had just skipped his formal seminar and just had a Q&A session with Charlie to get his thoughts on things. Can't say that I would attend another one. Actually, he was speaking locally (~5 miles away) last year, but I had no desire to go again.
  12. Interesting... Thanks for the heads up and link! What scumbags won't do to make a buck!
  13. Been shopping around and found the same one for $68 (free shipping too) that Cabelas sells for $99 (plus shipping). No brainer there!
  14. Think I'm gonna invest in a PEET Boot Dryer this year too. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Boot-Advantage-Dryer-by-Peet174/722473.uts?WTz_l=YMAL%3BIK-813358 The wife gets pissed when I use her hair dryer and burn it out.
  15. It's certainly not just for farmers either. Here's some of the other exhibitors: Berretta Benilli Beikirch Ammo NY Outdoor News NYS Trappers Association Outdoor Sporting Center SCOPE Smith & Wesson TARJAC Camo Dipping Taurus Tasco USDA Wildlife Services Vortek Scopes Weaver Scopes Winchester Various seed suppliers (Might be good contacts for those hard to find foodplot seeds, so you don't have to pay big $$ for shipping.) Alternative Heating
  16. A crossbow along with the extras. Also, a ladderstand or two. Thinking about changing all stands over to ladderstands. Just feel better about the kids in ladderstands, I guess.
  17. Thought I'd mention that Empire Farm Days is coming up on August 5th-7th. Lots of exhibitors! http://www.empirefarmdays.com/
  18. Marinated and grilled tenderloin. Trying the get the freezer thinned out!
  19. Checked my usual hot spots today. Got ~15 blackberries off of one bush, but that was the only one that I found that had any ripe yet. Most were still green.
  20. Well, I guess I'm just puzzled. I have a huge soybean field directly across the road from my property. It's been a dry summer and I have the only pond around for 3/4 of a mile or so. I have great undisturbed thickets/bedding areas. I have cams at on paths heading to the soybeans, my clover plots, and my pond. I have bucks moving through each Sept-Nov., but with the soybeans, clover, and pond, it just makes me wonder why some bucks aren't there year round... Whatever... as long as they show up when it counts!
  21. We dropped the bow off in early June and just got it back ~3 weeks ago. So it certainly wasn't close to season. I stopped in after 2 weeks, but they assured me it would be done ASAP. Ended up taking another full week! Again, 3 weeks for a 30min job (peep and adjust draw length)? It was my first time there too, so it was a very bad first impression!
  22. Interesting! Never heard of anyone planting garbanzo beans before, let alone in a foodplot. Sure sounds like it works from what your friend is experiencing!
  23. It wasn't Heritage Outdoors in Phelps was it?? l took my son's bow there to have a peep put in and to adjust the draw length. What... a 30 minute job?? It took them 3 full weeks to do it and the ONLY reason they did then was because I went to get it back from them, to go elsewhere!!! I was PISSED!!!
