  1. I don't do head shots. To me, too much could go wrong. Next thing you know the lower jaw is missing.........I'd rather a broadside double lung or heart shot.
  2. Pygmy, is that legal if you are in a housing development, just curious....or do the normal laws apply?

I'm told Nov is national mustache month (not sure if that's true). I started early Sept with a goatee, but have been keeping it trimmed....thinking bout going stache.....
  4. Is it illeagal to shoot a dog chasing a deer?

Doc, i wouldn't picture you with a beard!!!
  6. You guys need to remember that they ate going to print what they can in the least expensive manner.so with that said ( and I'm not sure where they are headquartered, although I think its the mid west) you have some creative/marketing folks worried about sales that have no clue about hunting or different regulations. All they want is to get the info out to the masses in a marketable way so they can make money. if they had a different flyer for each state it would cost more money.
  7. So ny antler, when do you want me to come up....haha Went to Montana when I was 12 with my dad. He was sighted in at 200 yards as that was the longest range we could find, but he was anticipating 300+ yrd shots......that trip was one of the best memories of my life even though we came home with nothing. Trying to go back out there soon.
  8. Agreed...."hunting" is subjective and is defined by the individual themselves. Especially when you start looking at areas in which people hunt. I.e. I would love to still hunt or track a deer for miles...but the reality of it is that by me the only real option is sitting in a well placed stand as the tracts of land don't allow it.
  9. I'd love to see the pics of that!! My wife drives my Durango....the one i bought with the sole purpose of hunting,,haha and now i drive a honda accord (my commuter car). I've been itching to shoot a deer so i can figure out how to transport it in the honda. I leased it sight unseen.....all i asked the salesmen (who i know) was, can i fit a deer in the trunk? He didn't respond.......I said well i guess so, or i will make it fit!!
  10. But now if you were in the dacks or out in western NY where i think there is a lot of farm land and you tracked this deer for a mile or two and "hunted it" and were presented with a 300 yrd shot, that would be shooting or hunting?
  11. Ok, I quit. Damn smart phones and auto correct. I said "Danny it"....that was supposed to say damn it!!!!! It's taking me longer then I would like to get used to this phone........
  12. Danny it, Hit the button too fast.....is that true hinting or is it just shooting?
  13. Nice.....but now, what's your feeling?
  14. OK, i feel stupid if your correct......just goes to show you how much i know about bears....don;t hate me, I have only seen 3 in the woods......
  15. I don;t know much about bears, but comparing him to a pic that burmjohn put up I would guess this guy is young. They say to look at the ears...if it looks like a German Sheapard, it's young...if it looks like Mickey mouse it has some age...plus the snout looks long which i would think means it's younger?? But just like humans, you could bear (no pun intended) big kids...shit I was 10 lbs 8 oz....its tough to tell with nothing to judge from but i would say maybe it's the height of a golden retreiver and is 2.5 times as big. My guees would be 200-250lbs....let us know when you shoot it.
  16. SORRY, forgot to say congrats to you other guys...way to start off he season!!!!___!_
  17. Long island has some monsters!!!!! A buddy of mine hunted out east and every year it was big buck after big buck.........very nice deer!!!!!!
  18. Nyantler, not by me, that's for sure....but I would think some of u boys upstate or west might have some on the farms? Anyway, what I wanted to get across was this.....is a 300 yard shot really hunting? Seems more like shooting to me........I guess we all have different views.
  19. Didn't read through all this BS, but u need to realize that hunting throughout the state us different. Also if u took a shot at a deer, at .300 yards. weather u tracked it or not, is that considered hunting?
  20. Dom, no I haven't. Are you talkin about the land by Thunderridge? Or is there some farther north?
