Well, what a nice surprise to come home to! I went to get a hair cut and this was in my fridge when I got home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Pulled the cards again yesterday. This stud and a few nice up-and-comers. https://youtu.be/ZmccABWiR5A https://youtu.be/kAvvq-llVeM
  4. I love the idea, when I was a kid in PA we hunted the holiday week in Alleghany County and it was awesome with warmer temps and light snowfall in SW Pa that time of year. I can only see doing this here in WNY if we are having very mild winter. The properties I hunt are usually snowed in before the end of regular season.
  5. Thanks. It's my son's. He just bought a Kimber Micro9 and is unloading this one. I told him I'd toss it up here before he sold it to the LGS tomorrow when he picks up the Kimber.
  6. I shot my first deer in November of 1978 at the age of 12, in Westmoreland county PA with a 30-30. It died. Since then I have shot them with a 30-30, 270, 270WSM, 308, 30-06 and a 338WM. They all died. I am no expert on rifles, but it is my experience that choosing the correct bullet is far more important than the caliber. For the last few years I have used 30-06 Hornady American Whitetail 150gr. InterLock. They too kill deer and are exceptionally accurate in my rifles.
  7. I'm selling a Khar CM9 in like-new condition. Used very little, less than 200 rounds down the pipe. 2 holsters included. $300. Located in WNY, but will ship to your FFL.
  8. I have made 4 of them. I bought climbing rope from EMS when they were here in Buffalo. At the time it was less than half of what HSS was selling them for. I would NOT use just any old rope, you need a rope with a specific stretch rating as well as weight rating, or maybe a static rope. I'm not saying either way, but if you are going to do it make sure you talk to a climbing expert, I am not. Your life depends on it.
  9. So funny! I just got texts from my sisters saying the same thing. I am now getting at least two a day again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tonight’s line up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Nope, but there will be very soon, or maybe a blind, right behind the camera it is very thick and weedy, a blind may be great right there. Funny thing is, It is over a mile walk from the gate to our furthest stand. These pics are 175 yards from the gate. I'm thinking I'll have to park down the road and walk in. I actually put that camera there to catch the neighbors kids riding dirt bikes on our main access trail. Who'da thought!?
  12. No, it is private land, our lease in 9K. it is a property line marker.
  13. Of course I got the best action where I put the crappiest camera. We'll see what we get next week, but I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far.
  14. And count me as one who does not think the tenderloins are all that good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. You know, I agree with dragging and bringing home the kill being part of the hunt. A big part. I guess it’s not true for me to have said I will never bring a whole deer home again, for the last two seasons quartering in the field has been a good thing for us, it just worked, but this year I will be hunting alone, my boys have too much going on with babies and weddings and careers, the more I think about it the more I see myself retrieving deer with the atv and bringing it home to deal with in a controlled environment and some beers and my dog, Harley. In fact as I am typing this I’m imagining doing all that in the field alone, not happening! I take it all back! Gut em and drag ‘em! Lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I’ve done it both ways, decades of knee and back surgeries have a way of making one look for other ways of doing things. For now, hanging works for me. To clarify, we don’t use a sawzall and hack at it like these guys did, but the steps are the same. I use a 3” Havalon and a small bone saw if needed, and we don’t waste any more meat than when gutting in the field and butchering in the garage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. No, we don’t debone. This is exactly what we do... it works well for us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I began using the gutless method last year and will never bring a whole deer home again. We have a gambrel hung from a tree near our parking area on our lease where we cut them up. After the shot we recover with the atv and hoist it up. 20 minutes later all of the meat is in coolers and we take the carcass in an atv cart to another spot on the lease. We stop for ice on the way home and cool the meat. We usually leave it in the cooler for a day or so then butcher and freeze. No mess at home, no ticks, no blood in the truck and best of all, all the hard work is done in the field. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. We all see what we want to see, and most of the time we simply decide it is a FACT without thinking too much about it. That is exactly how this country got to where it is right now, and the people tearing it down know it better than anyone.

  21. God bless you man! I grew up in PA and plan on moving back when I retire. The way it looks now, I may be able to work from home permanently, so we are thinking of moving to norther PA if that pans out. Best of luck.
  22. I think if my wife and child are in the car with me or if I'm alone, and I see what's going on ahead of me, I turn around. Why engage this nonsense???? There is no positive outcome to it.
  23. I'm not sure what you do for a living, but I have been editing video and photos for 30 years, I started my career airbrushing photos in the 80's. Here is a still I took from the video... not photoshopped. Wake up man.
  24. Great meeting you too! I hope you hammer a nice one with it this year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
