I am ITCHING to get out tomorrow, bought a second freezer and still have mine and wives signed over doe tag. That freezer looks mighty empty, i've shared probably 2.5 of my 5 deer with friends and family.

Years ago an apple farm around here shot dozens of deer and threw them in the corner of a property. Not sure if it was legal or not but someone found them and made a huge fuss. Could be one of those situations .

Thats horseshit, Broome county is just about 1 month right now. Depending if the judge has a case or not of course.

I have one question, why is it so bad to shoot a deer at 6:45 in the morning when sunrise was 7:17, but not an issue when i shoot the coyote chasing that deer? What is the difference beside the "legal" aspect.

I’ll be out with the bow behind my house. There’s an average 8 point wandering around eating every evening and that’s he only buck tag I have left.

Usually right back on the land where I got it. I’ve had deer this year come right up to gut piles as usual. Another way to look at it is if the predators feed of it that’s one less deer they kill to survive, then i shoot them as they eat it. It’s a win win.

only thing i can think is the gutted one someone wanted then decided they didn't and left it on the side of the road maybe.

I know for a fact they have a piece of land here they dump them on, we hunt that parcel.

Sucks, my deputy friend called me to pick up another one he had to shoot today. Apparently a hunter shot through both front legs just above he knee and never followed up to find the deer, the land owner was pissed and was happy that I would be using all the meat. Either was shot on the property over, or trespassing on his property. I’m not going to post photos yet because I told him it’s possible the person still may follow up with him tommorow and I’d be happy to give him the deer even though it has a roadkill tag now. It’s a nice non typical 3.5 year old.

Its about the time i go back behind my house and bow hunt, all the deer should be there now. The moon wont help the rest of the season also. Going to have to hunt urban areas or put some boot son the ground and find them.

Great stories and dedication, for the record i have had a deer shot with a .308 nod bleed a single drop externally. She only went 30 yards but there was fat plugging both sides on a double lung shot at 30 yards.

Going to pa camp Friday even though i'm tagged out, if all the blinds are not full ill be on coyote and spotter duty. Sunday ill be back at it in NY maybe take a doe with my last DMP, then have the wife transfer me hers since i think shes done.

i only do 3-4 person "drives" with people i know well. more or less controlled still hunting with sitters on the end.
