    Deer sign

I'm with Doc on this one, only one constant here is change we need to improvise, adjust and overcome (just like USMC does :-)). Size also matters, smaller land patches tend to change more often IMO, large well covered areas can provide asylum for longer periods of time. When in doubt go and scout, then scout some more...
  3. I have no plans to leave the house tomorrow either. I think this is the last snow of the winter though. Stay warm and safe folks.
  4. ATL, bring out the dagger in the second half... bye cheaters
  5. Your Momma Loves You and this proves it... Go Jets...!!!!
  6. +1 on Midland just don't get hung-up on that 36 miles range, it ain't gonna happen. Open space will give you some distance, in the dense woods it's pretty much line of sight plus maybe few stone throws. Many channels and privacy options, good size and sturdy it survived few stand drops like nothing happened.
  7. Love this show too.... according to one of the sagas Ragnar didn't die the first time, they threw him to the snakes again and for good but I think who would do that since Aella and Eckbert are gone (Eckbert died like a wuss BTW). Sagas were not always true but who cares, this is an awesome TV show. SKOL...!!!
  8. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...!!! What is this The Antlers Central? :-) You lucky dog Eddie...
  9. Happy B-Day! Is that the magic number? Make it count...
  10. what are you saying? Are we overdue for another one? :-)
  11. Looks kinda shady for my taste especially with adhesive tape. I will stick to my CrossBreed the best IWB I have used.
  12. Try this if you haven't already.... http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/recreation/hunting_and_trapping.shtml http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/pdf/recreation/open_rec_areas.pdf Just remember Westchester = no guns
  13. I dislike these fairytales as well but I'm kind of hyped up on The Mountain Man on History channel, it's more about living in the mountains and survive than the hunting show. In order to make it there they hunt/fish/trap etc. Some of the episodes at least sound/look real, one dude was trapping for 2 months in Alaska to no avail, heck after 2 months trapping with no success I would be long gone to some place else. Their hunts also show misses and their failures, kind of closer to reality than regular hunting show where every shot is a success. I also DVR them so I can skip the commercials.
  14. ...hmmm. why? what's different between your 4 500's? Unless you just collect them and get a kick out of it, then I understand. Otherwise I see no practical reason for 40 shotguns (other than war :-)). BTW, where do you store all that stuff, you must have a dedicated room or two for all that. Also, how long is your "cleaning day" a week? LOL

    Arrows

re-use them if they pass inspection, why wouldn't you? Unless you have something like a total weird shot. A friend of mine has a split arrow, the second arrow hit the same spot on the practice target and end up in the "b-u-t-t" of the first one, splitting it and becoming a permanent extension, lol. Now, that one "long" arrow hangs on his trophy wall.
  16. Enjoy while it lasts, it's 40 here downstate...
  17. Old style European driven wild boar hunt in Germany, fox hunt in England and wolf hunt in Canada...
  18. Finally a good quality pistol with many options for our warriors. At first I thought that I wont like the DAO trigger on my P250 but now I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm sure the Army guys will like this change to P320.
  19. I was going to ask the same thing, you guys must live in the "shed valley". The miles I have spent on walks out of season over the years I found like 2 (except the dead deer with antlers). I guess I should expand my search to the bedding areas too. Wooly got some good ideas though.
  20. There is a middle man somewhere in the south that takes orders online (I'm digging out the details as I type). The real order took a while but it comes from Middle East. Similar to what NYBow ordered. All and all about $100...

    Bullet Porn

The blunt force on these slugs is uncanny I was skeptical too but after seeing few deer running only 30-40 yards the most after being hit changed my mind. Wolc is onto something the shoulder that got hit first was a burger meat the second that stopped it was just fine Other deer with a clean lungs shot it was always through and through and they bleed out in seconds even bigger boys. It works for me so I will keep using it.

You put the word "p-o-r-n" after any word and you will get responses :-) This is not MZ but I like the gallery so I figure I would share, it hit the front shoulder of a decent doe and stopped on the back blade (undamaged mind you) I was using Lithuanian steel slug (Monolit 32) on my old Mossy 500
