    I would check with the NYS DEC website, Plenty of state land in Rocky Point,As well as other state land locations in other parts of Suffolk. The check station is located in Ridge.

    Had 3 does app. Me dead down wind, got to within 50 yards and the noses went up, gone. an hour later a buck comes in, nose to the ground and hits that down wind spot and trots off, at least it's action

    A soggy start here in 3h, saw a nice 8ptr bedded down on someone's front lawn as I drove by at 5:30 this morning. Right next to his driveway,

    Welcome aboard, I hunt in Manorville myself and plan on moving to the Greenport area in about 2 years.

    Its amazing how a squirrel can sound like a big buck when hopping thru leaves, Especially after a long sit with out seeing anything.

    Strapped in here in Suffolk county, nice plump doe just walked by just out of range. Nice way to start the day

    Well here's one method, I placed a red tape ,about 3 feet long, on a branch next to a tree I use as a stand location. The sole purpose of the tape is to help me find that tree in the dark pre dawn hours. I arrive one morning to find the ground pawed out beneath it.

    Ive been bow hunting 17 years,I still get the shakes, It happens.

    I had that same flock on Wed. Flew at tree top level and knocked the acorns off the trees as they flew across the woods. weird.

    The fact that they put up posted signs on land that's not theirs is pretty ballsy.

    Hey, how about using a drone to fly around the woods and find the deer! If we can find bin laden I'm sure I can find a doe.

    I can relate to that, Shot a 700 lb cow in Vermont, Too high up on the mountain to get the atv. We had to cape and quarter that beast and carry it out...I Loved every moment of it.

    Looks good considering were in a drought right now. The streams on my side john have dried up,Never saw that before.

    Just kicked up a bear walking up a ridge line, saw me before I saw him. That was close, no chance for a shot, he was going like sea biscuit as he ran away.

    I should be up a few times in sept, Then several times in October. Or just meet up for a beer on the Island.

    I just entered the 21st century, I upgraded from a flip phone w/a rotary dial to an apple I-Phone. Now I can join in the discussion will on stand.
