    Oh well,So much for going to Maine this year.

    I drew a tag in VT in 2011 after 9 years,Im on 12 years in maine and N.H. In 15 minutes they will post the maine results. Hope springs eternal. Im up to 21 pref. points in Maine. One down side is that N.H. announced they have cut way back on tags due to the fact that the moose population has dropped considerably in the last few years.

    That is correct,The Irish were introduced to it when they arrived here and shared the neighborhood with the Jewish community on the lower east side. Ham and turnips would be more appropriate.

    Ive applied for the moose lottery in VT,NH and Maine. It took me 9 years to draw in Vermont,Still waiting in the other 2 states.One point about Maine,If your willing to settle for a Cow tag,You might get drawn a lot sooner than just holding out for a bull tag.

    Their reasoning is that Suffolk County is heavily populated suburbia and on weekends you may encounter other weekend warriors i.e hikers,joggers,bikers. Its a safety issue,less people in the woods means less chance for an accident.

    Thats true I did, Saw an 8 ptr a couple of years ago on that lawn also. I'd be willing to lease the front porch next year!

    Yes! trap them and send them up to 3H were deer are few and far between,I saw 3 deer all season and only 1 buck in the last 2 years.

    Wow,Bill Crain and his wife stage a "Hunger Strike" at the start of the January shotgun season to protest the "Slaughter",Knock your selves out. They probably need to lose a few pounds anyway.

    Just extend the season another month until Feb, 5 months long. I don't thing this plan is really necessary.

    Damn John,That bear was right down the road from us! Btw,across the border in Pennsylvania, a 722 lbs bear was taken on 11/26 in Lackawanna County.

    I'm in 3h,lake Huntington. It has been a very slow year. The local guy who does butchering in my area says he's way down compared to last year.

    So I decided to reenact the battle of Stalingrad today,Damn it was cold.The snow ended at 8:30 and I still hunted along a ridge.I cut fresh tracks that were only minutes old and after quietly tracking 2 sets of tracks for 20 minutes I spotted movement ahead. I drew a bead on the big doe and "Click" no bang. WTF, I slowly racked the bolt and reinserted the round again and CLICK. I pull the round out and the primer is dented,A dud. Reload and and She drops. First time thats ever happened.

    Not sure about the hole,But the tarsal gland is rather small and clean. A rutting buck will have a dark stained tarsal in Nov. I would say a doe.
