  1. Wildcats, Where do you hunt in 4j I hunt 4j also over towards guilderland not much land there but the deer run through there all the time. I have seen some monsters just never close enough.
  2. I agree with doc on screwing up the patterns you might have now. Will the deer leave?Nope. I have hunted areas where they are clear cutting some patches and left very small ones standing. I took my biggest deer to date when they were still cutting. I just set up on the edge of the property and the second weekend they where cutting in there and I got a nice 6 pointer. I was in before light, just after light I heard the machines start up then some crashing through the brush. Two bucks came in and a 6 was first in line and I got a good shot on him. They pushed the deer right to me. The point being if you can figure out where they come in and leave from the property you should still have a good shot a deer. They should be in there eating the buds off the tree tops that were cut down in the days previous.
  3. I am in the woods all day I switch my stands up from morning to night. Deer travel different in my area from morning to night. That takes about an hour so a little stretch and lunch.
  4. I hunt public land so the first thing that walks buy along as it is big enough well hopfully go to the frezzer. I hope to see a nice buck you never know what will happen.
  5. I can't put trust into the mech. broadheads. I know they work I have some, shot them at target and they open but murph's law loves me. I stick to a 125 grain 3 bladed muzzy. They work great break ribs and take down deer. Makes me a believer.
  6. I keep all my shots under 20 yards with no sights on the bow it makes it hard to shoot out farther. I practice out about 20 to 30 yards but when you bring it in close you have much tighter groups.
  7. Just looks like he is getting a new coat. Dicks probably didn't have his size and it is on back order
  8. How far out was that shot. I would think that the bullet would have went through.
  9. Doc is right with milkweed pods. I take it one step father though. I take all the seeds off of the white fluffy things then I mix them up and put them in a film canister (you know the old 35 mil.) I cut a cross in the top and stick a couple through works like those kleenx boxes. They float for ever and the bag never rips.
  10. Fast, My friend has the 380 acp. I thought the same thing. It has a wicked long trigger pull. The first time I shot it i was like pull pull pull bang. Not to mention if you have big hands it is so small it is hard to hang on to. It is nice and compact though.
  11. I sort of agree with the brown thing you should be able to wear brown and not get shot. It isn't a perfect world though and we all know that. There are to many people that shoot at moving things without actually knowing what they are shooting at. The whole brown its down thing is a scary saying. I can honestly say that I have never shot through brush at something brown not know what it is. There are too many people that do that sort of thing. In this respect I agree with wearing something bright so people know what you are when you are moving. That doesn't mean you are always safe we all know that. Should it be manditory I don't think so it might thin out some of the dumb people out there ( I am just kidding ). We should be free to do what we want we do supposedly live in a free country right??
  12. I have my first aid kit with me when I am in the woods almost all the time. I carry the usual gauze pads, tape band aides, butterfly bandages etc. What do you guys carry. I am always looking to carry more stuff! : Actaully looking to make sure I have what I need.
  13. Yeah I agree, I hope he keeps the antlers almost touching. would look really cool big.
  14. One cam. had over 500 pics on it I was so excited then I saw them and those damn weeds move alot in the wind. Well anyway here are some pics.
  15. I would recommend wool pants to everone they are great but boy are they warm specailly on those warmer days. Seem like some stuff in those pants will melt right off and slide down your leg. The only other thing is all the little hitch hikers and burrs stick to them like glue. Only two little downfalls but overall a great and worthwhile product.
  16. I find anti's hard to talk to sometimes. It seems like it is their way or nothing and if we hunt we are a disgrace to the human race. People like this a narrow minded and limit their learning ablity. They are not all like this though.
  17. Do they sell those apples? I know of someone who was like that untill the deer herd started desimating there crop. Then all of the sudden they wanted the deer dead. Amazing double standard.
  18. I think shooting the gun every year is more of a piece of mind that it is still on. It sure would suck if that big deer walk in front of you at 50 yards and you missed only to find out you scope wasn't on because you didn't take the time to make sure it was still on.
  19. I knew when he wrote the paragraph it was going to be a hot subject. Nothing like waving a big flag saying look what I have and what you don't. I say good for noodle to have 1400 acres to hunt on let him hunt on it and do want he wants. If he wants to hunt naked and run through bryers so be it. WHO CARES I don't we will go on hunting the same way and so will he. Some people like to push buttons.
  20. I drive by their farm all the time. Plus my girlfriends parents get there milk everyonce and awhile yom yum. I love real milk.
  21. Are they reloads or factory? Where are you located?
  22. How many pics will it hold? Can you send me yours so I can try it out?
  23. I don't agree with the high pressured area or high hunter numbers have small deer or deer that don't get over 1/12 years old. I hunt in some very high number/presured area and see big deer every year. I also put in a ton of time each year. I think that has alot to do with seeing big bucks. Getting a shot at one of those is a whole other topic. I have some beautiful deer on the wall all from high hunter number areas. They are there you just have to get lucky or outsmart those big deer. That is why they are big!!
