    Just a reminder. If you apply for a cow tag in Maine you increase your chances by I think 40%. You can possibly trade them for bull tags(plus cash). OMM outfitters did all that for me. I did the 10 chances for $55 and hit on year 3. I was told unit 3 is the best but anything 1 - 6 is good. Got my bull in unit 6. That was 2019 so I gotta do bonus points only for I think 1 more year.     Im hooked on Centerpin fishing now too! I got a cheap Riversider 13' rod and reel for i think $150 just to get started and I absolutely love it. I use it on the salmon river for steelhead maybe 3 times a year because I live about 2.5 hours away but I've used it for brown trout on my local streams. Probably upgrade next year.     So sorry to hear about your father. My dad and I only went hunting together on a few occasions because, much like yours, with 3 kids and working insane hours there just wasn't enough time. Once he retired he immediately started having mobility issues so hunting was even tougher for him. But we made up for it by fishing! At least 3 lake Ontario trips a year plus the occasional salt water trip. We just lost him in October and all I can tell you is cherish the good memories.     Check out the IWOM. It's like a hunting sleeping bag. Just bought one this season and as soon as the wife saw it she wanted one too. Kinda pricey but they sell size returns if you go directly to their website for a discount. Only used it twice during bow season and when the temps got up to maybe 35 I had to take it off because I was so warm. I sweat like a donkey so I strapped it to my backpack while walking to the stand. Wife wears it like a parka until we climb in to the tree. I like it a lot Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Change of plans. Public land parking spots haven't been plowed and no way this 2wd Dakota is making in or out of there. So I'm in a stand on private. Probably for the best anyway, the 200 yard walk to this stand was horrific in this snow. There's just no way I can sit at home on the last day while I still have tags.     If killing a buck from the ground with no blind is the criteria for buck of the year then I'd like to nominate my 9 point this year. Granted mine was crossbow and I had every intention of sitting in a treestand that morning. Like an idiot, I forgot my quiver at home and had to drive back to get it and saw him on the way to my stand. Slowly stalked him for almost an hour then double lunged him at 30 yards.     Hit some public land yesterday. Lots of fresh tracks in the snow but they all lead to private land. Followed some Bobcat tracks until it jump across a creek. Thought that was cool! Didn't actually see any deer though Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
