So about 50 yards into my 1.5 mile walk to my stand I see eyes 40 yards ahead of me. He takes 3 steps towards me and I see a giant rack. Mind you it's about 5:15am, pitch black. But he's locked on to my headlamp. We both just kinda freeze there for 5 minutes and he slowly starts walking away. Didn't really know what to do because it was still over an hour until shooting light. He walks into the cut corn field but it's too dark to see so I just waited there for almost an hour til light. I walk another 50 yards towards my stand and there he is, 300 yards away on the other side of the field. No way I can put a stalk on him in an empty corn field. He starts walking the wood line and I know he's got about 80 yards til he's perfectly down wind from me. I start spraying myself with doe urine but it didn't help. Took a couple sniffs and bolted. As soon as I pack up my stuff to leave a big 10 walks by, never got closer than 75yds. Tried grunting, rattling and the can but he didn't react at all. Just kept on trucking. finally bought a Sitka base layer, found them on sale this past summer. so far they've exceeded my expectations. they really do wick away moisture. I sweat like crazy and they are dry in no time. definitely gonna spend the extra dough and buy more Sitka gear

my stand is maybe 200 yards from my father inlaws stand and he hasn't seen a deer and ive seen deer every sit except for 1. last year it was almost opposite. I guess deer just do what deer do

someone told me you can screw the back to a piece of plywood then place that side down in a large box with the nose facing up. haven't tried it myself but seems like it might work

kind of a douche bag response. seems weird to me you would talk shit about someone on a hunting forum for cutting up a deer in his home. to each his own I guess

stir fry is my personal fav over rice or noodles but ive stuffed them whole with onions, peppers, mushrooms and cheese which came out pretty good. also cut it super thin and made philly cheese steaks
