the brown trout bite was on yesterday on lake o, had a 3 man limit by 9am, my old man got a 12 pounder and his buddy lost a bigger one about 20ft from the boat, captain said it was probably 15lbs. went out of mexico. threw a bunch of 2 - 3 pounders back. we were doubled up 5 times. was supposed to be a salmon trip but the captain said they would be scattered because of the weather this past week. he said if you guys wanna catch fish, I know where the brown trout will be. and he sure did. perfect day

you got a great deal! I got the same stand and its more comfy than any ladder stand I have ever had. I suggest getting those third hand archery straps. they connect the platform to the seat piece and make the stand feel rock solid while up in a tree. also the Sherpa game cart is a game changer. quickly and easily convert your stand in to a game cart for hauling out your deer. good luck with it! -
haven't had any issues with o rings at all. never dried out and blades have always deployed on contact. and yes they do fly like field points. the deer I gut shot was 100 percent on me rushing the shot

maybe I'm being greedy but id like to test fire a .50 cal, my arm is already sore from my own hand cannon

been using wasp jackhammers for 4 season now with no complaints, even gut shot a 5 point that still went down within eyesight. they are the only expandable that I ever used so I don't have anything to compare them to but they have served me well so far

ive done wild turkey legs and thighs in the crockpot before. 8 hours in cream of mushroom soup , throw in some sautéed onions, carrots, tons of garlic and fresh herbs. put that soup in ramekins and cover with puff pastry. probably the wifes fav turkey recipe

no more field edges for me. the only open field I used to hunt is now covered with solar panels. can still hunt the property but have to stay in the woods. I'm sure they are gonna gather up in the field across the stream on the neighbors property. gonna be next to impossible to convince a tom to fly back over a creek. they seem to roost over the creek a lot so im gonna try to get in tight and see if I can get them to flydown on my side. gonna be a tough year for me. anything with a beard that comes into range is getting a face full.

Excited, Grateful, Shocked and Embarrassed all at the same time. Almost 10am Sunday morning, I'm about to pack it in and I see a small 8 chasing a doe hard. Already filled my buck tag so she's exactly what I'm looking for. they don't come in front of my stand but go behind it. it's open enough for a shot but I have to be careful not to hit my bottom bow limb on the back rest of this 2 man ladder stand. She gets within 25 yards and I stop her with a MEH. she's quartering away and I definitely rushed the shot. I really should've taken an extra second or 2 to compose myself but it all happened so fast. she went from a full sprint to a dead stop in an instant, right in the only shooting lane I had left. I thought the shot was just a touch high and back but she was quartering away and I thought I saw blood pouring out of her. I gave her a little time and started following blood. find a huge pool 5 yards from impact that within 15 yards trickled down to just a drop. now I start to worry because there was nothing beyond that. I'm about to back out and come back in a few hours when a sun ray through the trees is shining on my arrow. it's completely covered in light red blood. but still, nothing else I can see on the ground. I start to worry a little bit again but a big white belly catches my eye and all is well. she didn't go 60 yards. I turn her over to see how bad my shot was and find out it was way worse than I thought. you can just barely see it in the pic of me dragging her. so I'm really mad at myself because of this entry hole and completely stunned that she is laying here dead. to my surprise the arrow didn't even touch stomach or liver. must have went right over top of them because I have a nice big slice on the underside of one of the backstraps and one lung was turned to shreds. I'm so grateful for her but I don't think I'll ever rush a shot like that again. got extremely lucky this time. 110lbs dressed

I understand both sides of the argument but lean slightly towards not having full inclusion. I think a lot of us bow hunters just don't want any more hunting pressure during the early season. Let's be honest, it can be a giant cluster f come gun season. Especially opening day. It's the fly by night, shoot at anything, trespassing, no scouting, leaving garbage behind kind of hunters who ruin it for the rest of us. How many times have you had a hunt ruined because some guy is just walking around aimlessly a half hour after sunrise without any regard for wind direction, scent control, or other hunters? It's hard to argue this point on a forum like this because just the fact that your on a forum like this is proof that you put more time and effort in hunting than most. And probably have a much deeper appreciation and passion for it. I think that there's a fear that if crossbows had full inclusion there would be a wave of people in the woods who think you can just walk around and point you scope at anything brown and pull the trigger. Would that be the case? Maybe, maybe not. I totally understand people with shoulder injuries or disabled wanting it all season and if there's a way to enforce that only they get to use them, I'm all for that. I just don't want more a-hole hunters out early. This will probably fall on deaf ears because like I said before. The fact that your on a forum like this means you're probably not one of those a-hole hunters Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk

my father in law swears that deer movement is better during overcast, I've never noticed a difference, way too many other factors going on to tell if the clouds made a difference

Haven't lost one yet (knock on wood). Completely missed one 3 years ago, shot right under her and have missed 3 turkeys with the bow. Keep in mind I've also never even attempted to shoot one over 20 yards because that's as far as I can practice in my backyard Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk -
10/6 5:30pm. First time successfully calling one in. Been getting trail cam pics of bucks sparring lately so I decided to just tickle the rattling antlers a bit. About a minute or two later, this guy is rubbing a tree 30 yards from me. Walked 8 yards in front of me perfect broadside. Double lung with an entry and exit hole but not a complete pass through. Good blood trail, ran about 100 yards. Got some bigger bucks on cam on another property I hunt but the access is rough and I'm gonna be working a lot so I decided real quick that I'm wasn't after a trophy that night. Although once gun season comes I might pass on something this big. Just happy to have some meat and time out enjoying the outdoors. Don't be afraid to hit the rattles a little this early in the season. Good luck to everyone! Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk

the sticker on the bow says 70# and I got them cranked all the way so I assume it's somewhere around there. don't have any problems pulling it back but I move furniture all day
