  1. These two showed up on my NZ lease on days nothing else did. 20 & 25 yards. Two days later Sunday morning I got a Doe. Northern Zone Bow hunting seemed to take alot of time & patience compared to last year. It pays to be stubborn sometimes. It's going to depend on the area but I think generaly the herd density is alot less then the SZ, challenge accepted. We'll see how it goes next year with a better plot plan etc.
  2. Good hunting. How long did he trail out? Welcome to the forum btw.
  3. Slightly better pic of the doe in the day.
  4. Can't edit an older post so here's a daylight pic before more work starts. SZ opening weekend Doe #2.
  5. This reminds me of the time I hit a good wma spot and at first light spotted a gut pile 30 yards.
  6. Squirrel hunting... Waterfoul... Fall Turkey... My ass - it's poacher city in some places and we all know it. If there was surplus ceo's I'd invite one out to camp just to sit & listen opening week - free coffee. Getting phone coverage out there soon enough, at least I can get them on speed dial.
  7. Usually nothing and let everybody else making to much noise and stinking up the county drive them my way.
  8. So this is a SZ thread ? Saturday morning before shooting light I'm in my stand and a huge deer is 15 yards behind me, fairly certain it was a doe but it didn't stick around for enough shooting light so could see any twigs or branches, at one point it was 25 yards broadside - it walked. Before 8am a pair of does passed 40-50 yards out then spooked up on something and reversed course. Sunday morning I passed on a 4pnt, Sunday late hunt about 6pm I let the wind out of a nice doe.
  9. Nuttin wrong with that - good hunting.
  10. Good Hunting guys. Here's doe #2 SZ opening weekend.
  11. That's some mahogany right there.
  12. Saw this thread and thought - 'how's that possible the seasons just getting started'.
  13. Last year 1st score & the buck was in the rain, just sayin`. Not a heavy rain or storm, but about 6 days straight of frickin rain.
  14. I'm constantly reading that old school book "Between the leaves, trees & shrubs".
  15. Thanks for the comments guys. I tried to point out some of the work involved. I swear following a bloodtrail pumps up the anticipation, almost like the moments before the shot. I mean we wait all year to do these things, it's awsome! wdswtr my NZ lease is in the Williamstown area. The poison ivy; funny thing I used to get that alot, seems my system just doesn't care anymore - or most likey when I'm working there I always wear long sleve, gloves, usually
  16. Doe I scored 10-9-11 on the NZ lease. Did a video on the bloodtrail. I love bloodtrailing, these are a few of my favorite things http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5msA-10tXw
  17. I'm torn between ML in the NZ or 2nd Bow opener in SZ. Damn it. Either way to luck & good hunting!
  18. 11pnt WMA 7M 12ga smoothbore 7 pnt WMA 7M Rifle Taken some of my best birds out of the same area, including calling in my son's 1st.
  19. No nicer way to say it - I love a good COC head.
  20. I looked into the ripshot, still considering it. Looks as if it would take the agitation off the wrist / carple tunnel. And if I'm not mistaken you can adapt most releases.
  21. Sunday morning 10-9 slickhead. PSE LiteSpeed - radial x weave - muzzy 100 gr phantom Doe was in and around the clover plot before shooting light. I got into my stand about 20 minutes before shooting light and next thing I knew the doe was hanging around. 25 yard shot.
