  1. So today I had a stat run out to Oneida extended care. Usual routes typically get to places like that in the evening when all the residents are in eating or sleeping. I ran into two WWII vets, one was a medic / corpsman, and the other saw action in the Pacific. Then, some nice eye candy downtown Canastota, but the point is it was kind of cool spending a few minutes with those guys.
  2. Get a guard cat that will rip out his junk if he gets fresh. This also reminds me of one of the early challenges of raising teenage daughters, taking them shopping for clothes.
  3. Right now its not as bad but earlier when spring broke rt 28, 23, 205 loaded with transit deer. A route for work, decided to have fog/driving lights installed to help spot 'em.
  4. Got to do what you feel is best at times. Good luck & good hunting.
  5. Reminds me of the time i put some av gas in my '73 mustang. Of course that was back in '84.
  6. Chinamart in central square has a bunch. 30/40 range ea. Also some sawtooth from same nursery. Im not ready to plant anymore trees atm. Damn it.
  7. Horning greenhouse has 5 chineese chestnut trees available 4' @ 50 ish each. Rated for zone 5.
  8. Honestly I'm not thrilled about mixes. They seem more like placebos in hopes something will work. On the other hand, a clover mix in a plot, with clover varieties kind of makes sense. AK's WR has a marginal mix of peas, now, I dig that stuff. I have some plots of that and Clovers bracketing one another but not mixed. In the NZ by the time gun season opens most of the clovers peter out. But for Archery through Muzz seem ok. WR, I'll just say will always have a plot on my jazz.
  9. Keep us posted on plans / work to remove the stumps etc. Interested in how that goes. Taking on a project next year, maybe starting in 2015 on clearing for a new plot as well. I'm certain the David-Brown will be put to work.
  10. Still considering the Dunstan's or trying a few of them. As an alternate though, what's wrong with the Chinese chestnuts? Not like I'm planning to eat them.
  11. Most of the time I use a boonie hat with a bug net over it, its gotten to be standard equip. Damn it.
  12. Having issues posting youtube so just the links .. https://youtu.be/fa2gAoWyPKU 51 sec - early March camping https://youtu.be/B9QcTTP0pYM 120 sec mid Nov 14 camping
  13. Sometimes, you just feel like camping..
  14. My last tank had Texas cichlids but after a while they out grew a 30. Found a new home for them and kept the set up in case i got back into it. That was over a year ago. Tanks can be soothing to watch.
  15. Well at least you had time to plan on your side. Good luck.
  16. Mice/rats. Lamprey. Mosquitoes/biting flies (if insects are on the list). Tent cats. Welfare addicts tbat breed & vote.
  17. Thats allot of hooie to basicaly outline how they need to keep streets passable so the welfare addicts can get to the stores and use their ebt cards. We certainly wouldnt want them to fall and sue what remaining taxpayers are still there.
  18. The old saying goes 'you cant fix stupid'. And this is more fuel for the antis. In the end the rest of us get penalised while other idiots cheer more feel good regulations shoveled out. When i first saw this thread i thought it would be about hillary.
  19. About a half dozen times overnight every two hours the next schmuck drops their plow blade to make sure that fresh 1/2" is cleared off some parking lot near by.
  20. Will see this movie. I just have little tolerance for theaters nowadays.
  21. That about sums it up. ♣
  22. Short of 20 years ago I was a primestar installer. Decent job for a while. When they got bought out they tried to chop our cut and drop us to minimum. See ya's.
