  1. Wow, I am amazed how low people keep their houses. I have a coal furnace and like to keep it around 70-75, my wife likes if closer to 80.I like coming in from a could winter day to a nice warm house.
  2. I have seen scrapes for a few weeks, Sat I seen a buck chasing a doe, he was grunting behind her. If he only followed the trail of the doe, instead of taking a short cut, would have had a shot. My buddy seen 5 bucks in a field and the big guy of the bunch deceided to make some deer porn in the middle of a open field on Sat morning arounnd 9am. I am thinking this week is going to be good.
  3. I have been riding 3 Wheelers, 4 wheelers and dirt bikes since I was 7 years old. I have wrecked on more times then I can count. One time on a 3 wheelers I was zooming down a field hit a bum that was like a ramp, landed fine, until the tire blew off the rim, the rim dug in the ground and flipped me over, I hit the ground so hard on my chest that my helmet came off and it was still straped tight. Most of the time, I was messinf around when I have crashed. Now I am alot older and some what wiser, and don't mess around much on the machines.
  4. There is a club in Northern Seneca County area/ Cayuga County Near Montezuma. I can find out more on it if you need me to.I think they have like 50 miles of trails, but could be wrong on that.
  5. I have a few Quads. Have a 01 Suzuki QuadMaster 500 4x4, 1999 Kawasaki Prairie 300 4x4, and a 1998 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO 4 x4 , plus have a little 110 Chinese Made Quad for the Daughter.
  6. I could not get on using Firefox. It said reported to google that the site my download unwanted or harmful programs to your computer. Went to AOL Browser and logged right in with no problems.
  7. I have not heard or seen any info about this deer. Will have to check out the Watkins Bait shop and see if they know.I see in another thread someone said they seen it near Monterey, I bet that deer is on Monterey Jacks Deer Board over there. There is alot of nice state land over in that area to hunt. I am guessing Sugar Hill.
  8. Here is another link. http://www.northernwhitetail.com/What_s_New/body_what_s_new.html
  9. My wife works at a Hospital and she pays $120 every 2 weeks for our insurance. One nice thing about where she works, is they will forgive most of the bill that the insurance company does not pay. She had some surgery, and had a $800 bill left after insurance, she went to the billing department, and they sais we take care of our workers, and knocked the bill down to less then $200. Only thing they could not knock off was out of the hospital costs.
  10. This is a tough judgement call. Well with the stupid game wardens in my area. I probley would have just shot her to put her out of her misery. The last time we shot a buck and it was all full of puss, all the game warden did was come out, gave us a new tag, and cut the horns off and took them and then said feed the Yotes with it.
  11. I think there are alot of different ways to cook the books. I have noticed when I go to the store buy groceries some of the prices have gone through the roof. Bacon is going out of sight, Sugar has gone up. I also also have noticed that packages sizes are getting smaller and the price is the same or more. I got a bag of sugar at Walmart the other day, and it is only 4lbs now instead of 5 lbs and was like $2.29 a bag now. I love how they say inflation is in check. Maybe they are not seeing the same stuff as me.
  12. Looks like a couple of Trophey Cougars there.
  13. I have my own business. I deal in the collectibles market, and can tell you it is very bad out there .I get calls everyday from people looking to sell stuff. I also have picked up a nice side business with Lawyers that do Bankruptcy, as hey have a huge amount of them, and I now do the appraisal of the peoples collections for the bankruptcy courts.I was at a lawyers office a few weeks ago to drop a appraisal off and he showed me the stack of bankruptcies he had just filed, and another stack that he was waiting for people to pay, so they could be filed. He had over 100 cases alone. So image how bad this BK thing is going to be.Most of them where chapter 13, which people just reorganize their debits, and get to pay back there unsecured debt, over 5 years at like 15-30 percent on the dollar. They still have all their secured debt.I also do alot of outdoor shows during the summer, and still sold alot of items, but most of it was $10 or less items, anything over $30 was a tough and rare sale.
  14. No TP, just some good old paper towels folded up and keep them in my pocket. These have dual purpose, can be the emergency TP or used to wipe my knife and hands off when field dressing.
  15. I just have a good old sharp knife, and cut around it and pull it out.I try and carry as little extra crap with me when I am hunting.I hunted 25 years ago with out any of this stuff why do I need in now.
  16. I live on the east side of Seneca Lake, and there hasnot been too many wild Pheasants around in 10-12 years.I used to see them on our farm in Ovid area all the time, have not seen any in a few years. I think the Yot's took a toll on them.My friend and I did release 80 Birds in the Hector, Lodi area about a month agon, not sure how many have made it. I am thinking about getting some birds next year, to raise and release.
  17. I have never seen a logger take trees 8 inches or less. Most want 12 inches and some 15 inches or bigger.
  18. I have been in the woods cutting firewood and the deer walked right up to me when I was running the chainsaw. I also had a woods logged out during late gun season, did not make that much of a difference. Those tree tops make a great place to bed.You will not believe the new groth you get next spring. One thing I don't understand you stated he is cutting 30 trees that are 8 inches around. Does not even make sense money wise to cut trees that small. Sounds like a firewood company deal. That is the right size for fire wood, when split.
  19. I plow alot of driveways with my ATV . You need good tires, and I have the wide State plow.I can plow 8" or so of wet snow and 12" or more inches of the light powder snow.
  20. I shot a 185lb Six Point one year opening day of Bow Seasons. I have a friend who shot a buck with a bow, don't remember the number of points but It passed 200 pounds with no problem.I think it weighted 249 pounds on certified scales.
  21. I know corn went way up the other day.I heard it was almost $18.00 a bushel.
  22. That picture of that white buck, has a nick name of Hansome Hank. We would pretty much walk up to you, not sure if her survived last year or not, as there was a tree stand on the Kids Peace area last year. Was a big deal about someone trying to hunt him. They have huge lakes inside the Depot too. I had a friend who did patrols in there, and said he seen some monsters in there. I not sure if these deer could be entered for B & C because of the fence.
  23. Most of the white deer for some reason are missing their brow tines. I had a uncle who worked on the Depot and was lucky enough to shoot a white buck. When you get the chance to hunt, you not only have to be selected, but then they do a selection to see who gets to shot a white doe, white buck, or brown doe or brown buck. What would suck if you had a chance to hunt there and could only shoot a brown buck and a white buck walked by
