Looked like Ricks knife blade broke off while offing a walker with it in the head. Should have used a Benchmade : )

So driving to scout my hunting area I descend down a large hill. Just over a knoll and have to gently apply brakes or your speeding I see this in the road. http://i.imgur.com/OhrS8k1.jpg She must have just gotten hit. I pulled over , waving traffic around her. She got up after a lot of me yelling and clapping. I could have reached out and touched her as she was completely stunned. Back leg appeared to be broken at the hip with blood coming from arse too. She hobbled to ditch just off road and fell over. She tried to get up and head towards the road two more times. I knocked on 3 surrounding houses doors to perhaps have them notify police / dec and suggest that they could now possess her after put down and tag issued. Nobody home I'm approx one hour each way to get deer carrier if "I" wanted to call dec to get tag. As no way to transport her without carrier. I still had a ways to travel on my journey. I fear she will get in road again and perhaps cause a bad accident CCW chambered in 357 Sig. No knife on me. What do you do ? The good part is upon scouting I found a good rub line and fresh scrapes right near my blind. 4 longbeards and a Jake right near blind too. 75 yards and gosh are they dumb in the fall for some reason.

But technically Glenn isn't dead yet so perhaps this is why he wasn't on ?!

had I seen that bear up close there would be a pooping noise......me in my boxers -
I like making my venison chili spicy but add a good cup of sugar to it. First you get the spicy on the front end but sweet on the backend.

Just another emotional let down by them and the Sabres sadly

Is this per airlines regulation ? I'm hunting not flying with it

Doesn't last long around our house either. But yes, it will hold up longer in paper bags than plastic. I used to use plastic but noticed condensation in the bags and since have gone to paper sandwich bags. It'll dry out a little bit more in paper but don't have to worry about it going bad as quick.

So ethics/morals/laws of this is ok for a lot of you but me to track a deer onto unposted yet non public land is not ok !? I'm tracking for the same reason. To hopefully put wounded deer down

Buy private land, get permission to hunt someone else's or deal with it unfortunately

You should have hunted. Bills are pathetic !! -
Looks great !! LOl for Jacksonville that is. Last 3 times he had ball, fumble, Jags return for TD, pick 6 and latest was pick resulting in TD. Ray Charles for QB !!!

Have an 870 that loves Lightfields .

Watch the plastic bags and jerky . When I make my jerky from steaks and chops (in oven) I'll put it in a paper bag so moisture doesn't build up. Even dry it holds moisture .

I shoot big does and routinely get back between 45-50 pounds of boneless , no pork added , Always thought this was a little low IMO. Meat has next to no fat. Packaged well with basic cuts of ground, chops, steaks, roasts, stew, tenderloins etc. Been contemplating of taken my deer elsewhere this year to see the return

Deer was shot smack dab in the middle of 70 acres. Highly doubtful one would think it would get outside that corridor I would say. So really doubting I ever needed such precautions. Being on Thanksgiving I say I had zero chance of retrieving any information from town offices. I shot, got on blood trail and kept going, never thinking tracking would go on for so long but wasn't going to give up once I started. I shoot a lot and am not one of those people who show up with zero practice thru the year on opening day.

I've seen conflicting numbers of how much deer live weighed by weight of venison you take home. I've heard 1/2 and I've heard 1/3. My guess would be the 1/3 . Anybody have a good answer for this? Unfortunately I do not have the place or materials to process my own deer. Ex :47 pounds of venison you take home would equal what to live weight ?
