I personally use a Ruger 10/.22 ,scoped and solid points with head shots. I like someone else had mentioned use the tree as a backstop so rounds aren't flying off who knows where. A .22/20 gauge combo would be ideal for all situations to end this thread

Where are you at in 9H ? Eagle/Bliss area here. I'll be sitting opening day of regular season in my new built blind so 13 year old daughter can go with . It's about 100 yards behind my ladder stand and I frequently see deer sneaking behind me and my scent blows right at them. Not anymore !! Daughter will be with me til noon or so and the ballet (Nutcracker rehearsal) in afternoon. Can't wait to share deerhunting woods with her

This topic comes up on oldgobbler turkey forum a lot with "max range" you'd shoot or have shot a turkey with a shotgun. It starts quite the pizzing match i'll tell you. Real turkey hunters won't shoot out past 40 yards tops. If you haven't coaxed him inside of that you haven't fooled him IMO. New Winchester ad in print totes some professional turkey hunter killing a bird with this new ammo at something like 70 yards. SMH ! Golden BB's aren't for me. Too many wounded birds that go off and die . There's a shortage as is, this gets my goat. Sorry to get a little off topic. I don't bow hunt so don't have a "true" answer related.

Just a Master Forge I got for Fsthers Day 3 years ago. Was like $50 and is almost identical as the Weber just like it for $300. I leave it out all year , shovel the snow from around it and use it year round. Wife got it at Lowes

This was one of the few Spring turkey seasons I didn't have one or at least see one sneak in to get me .The johnny stewart will be getting a work out this fall.
