  1. I live on the southern edge of the Adirondacks and live to hunt big woods. I have hunted northern NH some for both turkeys and deer. It’s a great state to hunt from what I have seen. Nice have a 4hr drive to woods that often has snow when we don’t over here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. BLR’s are fine guns, triggers can be a bit gritty and it’s hard to find a gun Smith to touch one so what it has is what it’s gonna be but other than that they’re just fine. I have 3 of them and they all average 1.5”-2” groups at 100yds plenty good to kill deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Wire wheel is where I would start. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Fixed, it was the kindle! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I currently have 3 crossbows all are or were top of the line and I vote no to full inclusion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Great gun! When I hunted shotgun only areas and Ohio was shotgun only I had one and it drove tacks! It’s gone now and I don’t miss hunting with a shotgun but if I ever had to again I would buy another. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. My father was one of the best in the biz when it came to big woods hunting, he showed and told me a lot. I just wish I was smart enough to listen. As a teenager I knew I was better than him so I ignored most of what he was teaching me. I’m sure I would be a lot better hunter today if I would have listened. Turkey hunting I am mostly self taught because the old man was a caller and I hate calling turkeys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I just got out of work and as a prison guard we had plenty of fun last night busting balls. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. If longer range is on the horizon I would pump the breaks on a blr, I have 3 and none of them are what I would call “accurate” sure they’ll shoot 1.5”-2” groups and that’s just fine for me but if I was buying a 300wsm and considering stretching its legs it certainly wouldn’t be in a blr. I have a Tikka t3 in 300wsm with an 18” barrel and scope that barely breaks 6lbs and will shoot sub moa consistently. Blr’s are plagued by a trigger that almost no one will work on and they’re consistently heavy and not very clean. Another thing to consider if you’re buying a gun to head out west eventually with is most long range work is done from your belly, running a lever gun while laying on the ground is far from ideal. 10. Working a double but I’ll be in the boat Monday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Wake up around 7 start walking around until I find a tom sneak up on him and kill him. Sleep in until around the 15th when I can start hunting at my camp in the Adirondacks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Congrats Larry! I hope you and the ol’ lady have many years of happy retirement. I have to believe those kids you speak so kindly of will be telling stories about you for many years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The best one in my opinion is a savage 99 followed closely by a Ruger 96/44, blr’s are good but never warmed up to them. Marlins are solid but heavier than they should have been and the current ones leave a lot to be desired. Older Winchester’s are solid but not being able to mount a proper scope is a downfall to many. The Henry’s I have owned/shot have been very nice but heavier than needed. I have had great luck with a couple Rossi’s but have heard enough bad about them that I couldn’t recommend one. 14. I have a 3” affinity and it has been bullet proof other than some rusting issues with the bolt. Doesn’t effect operation just the looks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. No vest for me. Turkey gear I carry fits in shirt pocket, tags and pen. A few shells. I guess gloves and mask are in a pants pocket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Is there any regulations on pigeons. I have shot them before but never got to serious about it. I’m spoiled in the amount of crows I have available in that I’m hunting the edge of a landfill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I do believe that particular predicament is known as pubecicles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks buddy, some wing shooting help is surely needed although I am improving. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. well probably our last hunt of the season and what a hunt it was! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. dont know the count yet but over 20 already! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I have about a 10x10 piece of tyvec house wrap that I put some grommets in and iron it flat then vacuum seal it so it takes up no room in my pack fits in the camel back slot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. 14 confirmed this morning. Wasn’t a lot flying but the setup was perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Don’t know of a more ascetically pleasing gun ever made. Most of them didn’t even have pretty wood but they sure are pretty guns. I own a handful of them including a like new 1899 takedown in 250-3000 with original case. Every one I own is more accurate than it should be. Only reason why one isn’t one of my main deer rifles is they’re heavier than I like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. To look at a savage 99. To tote around and kill critters a Remington 760/early 7600. In any clambering as log as it’s 35cal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I have a cannon 100 gun. There ain’t no way in hell you could fit 100 guns in there even if half were pistols. I keep the valuable ones in there that fit and the rest are in other lockable cabinets. The safe ain’t going no where, it was lowered into the basement by a backhoe before the House was on.
