  1. I have been a 10mm fan for a log time and have 4 of them however I see no use in a 10mm revolver. As hard as it tries a 10mm isn’t even close to a 41mag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The problem with your scenario is that there isn’t a perfect gun or cartridge. A lightweight revolver in 41mag or 44mag with a quality hollow point bullet would be ideal for ending a wounded bears day. However the scenario could change quickly and the gun you choose could very easily become a personal defense weapon if said wounded bear decides he’s still got some fight in him. Here is where a semi would be ideal. When stressed accuracy falls and the more holes you can get into a critter the better of you’ll be. This is where a light revolver sucks and a semi shines. 3. My coyote gun is a lightweight. Polymer lower, carbon handguard, carbon fixed stock, carbon pistol grip pencil 16” barrel no muzzle device. With a leupold 2-7x28 it’s 6lb 13oz with 5 rounds in the clip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Happy Birthday ol’ boy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. 41 rem mag, less recoil than a 44mag and on it heels performance wise, more energy and larger hole than a 357mag. My votes still a Glock 29. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If you’re not carrying a long gun the sidearm becomes the main gun and that changes my answer, kinda. A light short carbine chambered for a real cartridge still has my vote. Every tracker that tracks with dogs that I know carry’s a 22lr or 22mag revolver. My wife would got to a single action revolver in 22mag for dispatching wounded critters. 7. I have a 10mm Glock 29 and consider it to be just about the perfect solution to a problem that doesn’t really exist. I carried it for years with other handguns but really if I needed to put down a deer I’m using my rifle not the pistol. The sidearm I carry the most is an sr22 Ruger. Weighs nothing accurate as hell and would do a perfect job dispatching a downed buck that I don’t want to try and slit its throat. I bought a scandium framed 329 S&W and it was great to carry but not fun to shoot. In my opinion carrying a sidearm for the purpose of dispatching wounded game isn’t worth it. If you want it for protection Incase you get separated from your rifle I would suggest a small 9mm semi. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The second someone thinks about lead they’ve already missed their target. With a gun I’ve shot probably 20% of my deer moving with a bunch of those running and I have never lead one in my life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I plan on riding this train until it falls of the tracks that’s for sure! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thank your buddy coumo that you like so much! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. As a recently divorced man that was with the same woman for nearly 15 years and has just recently started dabbling in the market. I will say your friend was a very wise man! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. This is a fella I could be friends with. It takes a certain kind of person to try and hunt spring gobblers with a bow without a blind. It took me years to finally kill a gobbler with a bow with no blind. This fella uses calls and decoys something I don’t enjoy doing but still very impressive. http://www.wideopenspaces.com/archery-grand-slam-turkey-hunting-with-no-blind-is-a-sight-to-behold/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The only gun I own that noticeably loud is a tikka t3 300wsm that I had rebored to a 35-300wsm wildcat. That friggin thing is loud with its 18” barrel! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. That’s pretty awesome, you guys have a rough job you should be very proud of what you do! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Probably a pinned mag. Having a bunch of guns with 16-18” barrels I have never found them unpleasantries shoot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Women, I tend to be able to find some kind of an attribute in most of them and have never been known to be very picky. But give me a pretty one that’s fishing and the drool will start to flow! Small town gun and tackle shops. I love walking into a new gun shop for the first time. 3 wheelers, I learned to ride them and still would rather ride them than anything else. 17. I’ve killed them out to about 180yds with a .223. In my experience I wouldn’t shoot one at 0yds. I have killed truck loads of deer with a .223 when I was stationed down south and it was my only rifle but I was never happy with the performance and I tried a bunch of different bullets. If I didn’t hit cns and have them drop right there they were always hard to find with a small blood trail. If you hit cns with enough energy to disrupt it you can kill them with a B.B. gun but no ones perfect so you have to plan for that and that’s why I feel the .223 isn’t adequate. All my experience with a 223 is with a lot smaller deer in eastern NC, eastern SC AND NE Georgia. I don’t know if I killed a single deer that went over 125lbs live weight with the 223. That’s a sizable amount smaller than a NY deer especially if your talking about the Adirondacks. If short and light is what you want it’s hard to beat a kimber for the money, don’t waster the money on the Adirondack with the shorter factory barrel buy what ever one you want then take it to a competent gun smith and have the barrel sacked of to 16-18”. You can do this yourself with minimum tools I have done a bunch of them and it really not hard at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I always have a couple extra scopes without guns in the cabinet. Nothing worse than finding a deal at a gun shop or show and not being able to shoot it as soon as you get home because you don’t have a scope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. About usual 5 cord between me and mom. I’m alway 2 yrs ahead and and will be in good shape going into spring to start splitting again. I split 95% of our wood by hand just because it’s way faster than using a splitter. I start my splitter about once every 3 yrs or when I get a big oil of gnarly stuff that I won’t do with a splitting axe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Here’s mine, shoots like great. Recoil isn’t as bad as I expected. Stock is junk and trigger is awful. Not bad for a sub 500$ rifle. Mines not going anywhere but not sure if I’ll ever hunt with it other than Ohio. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I don’t have to be thankful for anything, if one of those wackjobs were in charge I would bail. Sell my house for way more than I have in it. I can have my same job in 49 other states by the end of the month. The only thing keeping me here is I live where I live. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
