My first trophy was a hen turkey that I killed with my first longbow when I was a little kid. I’ll never forget the pride walking home with it to show my dad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Who cares! Haven’t read all 6 pages but I can only imagine where it’s went. Hunt however makes you happy, shoot what makes you happy and don’t worry about the guy across the road. The same arguments happen in the fishing world with people that say trolling isn’t really fishing, who the hell cares! If you don’t like shooting long ranges don’t do it. Traditional fixed blade screw-in 125gr broadhead for turkey?
Buckmaster7600 replied to left field's topic in Bow Hunting
If you don’t shoot then when they’re broadside or slightly quartering away you could kill them with about anything. I have saw wing bones do crazy thing to arrows including a ricochet where a mechanical rocket bounced off the turkey. I won’t shoot a broadside turkey with bows anymore. one of my local flocks they spend all day in my neighbors pasture and roost in my wood lot. They’re safe from me until they start to split up. I can’t hunt them in the pasture and don’t like setting up on roosted birds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Traditional fixed blade screw-in 125gr broadhead for turkey?
Buckmaster7600 replied to left field's topic in Bow Hunting
With my bows I have went lightweight for turkeys. I want the arrow to stay in them. It really helps keep them on he ground after being hit. Something I learned from shooting them with compounds and am carrying over to the longbow. I’m shooting 85gn sliktricks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
The weather is really turning for the better after this next couple days, if there still snow you’ll have to find feed as I doubt there will be much breeding happening. The turkey rut is usually 3 weeks behind home at my camp in the adk’s. I generally save a tag for the 3rd week for an adk gobbler Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How many here have bought land just for hunting

No house on the 300 acres. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Sweet looking rig, isn’t it weird taking your hand off the pistol grip and reaching on top of the receiver for the safety? I have shot a bunch of mossbergs with pistol grips and hated the reach for he safety! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have 2 lots that I bought for hunting. Close to home and handy but taxes are high. High is relative. I pay almost 8k a year in taxes but have nearly 300acres. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
went our to get my mail yesterday and almost had my ears knocked off when he gobbled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think it’s safer to do now than in a few weeks. They could move between now and then but it will give you an idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My old man was the best I ever met/saw in action. Didn’t matter where we were if there was a buck he wanted to kill that buck should be getting his arrangements in order because his time was short. He hunted with a tenacity that was hard to explain, the hours he put in the woods were unbelievable. He had a knack for putting himself in the right place at the right time. Most of all he was a finisher! I only know of him missing 1 deer of the 100+ I was around for. He could shoot like you wouldn’t believe, he always said “if I can see him I can hit him.” Turkeys were the same way the sucker could call like no one else I know and he could move through the woods as good as anyone. If there was a gobbler around and the Old man knew it he was in big trouble. Often we would have breakfast before heading out and we’d talk about our days plans “we rarely hunted together always did out own thing” and he would say “well I guess I better kill one today since it don’t seem like you’re gonna” or something similar. When a comment like that was made I wouldn’t even jump when I heard the shot because I already knew it was coming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Probably 2002 or 3 I killed a big Tom on opening day in 6” of snow in schoharie county. It was a ton of fun tracking him in the snow, I even had a good idea how big his spurs and beard were before I ever saw him. He never gobbled but when I finally caught up to him he did come into the call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Remington model six 308. I would rate it a 6-7 out of 10. Bought it because I didn’t have one and bought another in a bit better shape don’t need two of the same guns that I’ll never hunt with. Has a Japanese Tasco and original all metal mag. Haven’t shot it yet but if someone local would like to they’re welcome to. Think I have a couple boxes of factory ammo I can throw in for asking price. 475$ obo would rather not ship, local gun shop does free person to person transfers. Located near Saratoga springs. What would Jesus want to see a deer killed with ? This is totally speculation because I’m not religious but lately it seems that if he has the powers some believe he has his weapon of choice is automobiles I have saw more road kill in the last few weeks than I can ever remember. I have a range in my back yard that is used multiple times a week. I’m legal, never had a neighbor complain. Most all of them shoot as well. Out here we all do our own things and keep our noses on our own faces. I don’t give a crap what they are doing and they don’t seem to care what I’m doing either. If I couldn’t shoot on my property I would move! I pay the friggin taxes I’ll do what I want on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
