  1. I'm looking forward to his first post on HNY!
  2. Best of luck to ya Biz! A close friend of mine moved to Kentucky in 2003 and applied for a resident elk tag every year. He finally got the tag in 2014 and took a nice 5x5 bull. Patience, grasshopper! ;-]
  3. I'm trying to 'make a difference'. We, as a nation, are being played. I'd like to see that stopped. Every bit of 'evidence' provided by the supporters of AGW is and has always been based on computer models, every one of which has been absolutely wrong for over thirty years. I don't consider that science. I have a friend who did much of the coding and programming for some of those computer models in the late 1980's and early 1990's, and he was at every turn told to make the model fit the expectation rather than the data. I don't consider that 'science' either. This thread is going to be in the "Politics and Religion" section before long, because that's exactly what it is, and where it belongs.
  4. The real problem with this 'climate change' hysteria lies in the proposed solutions, all of which will lead to permanent destruction of the manufacturing base and a loss of sovereignty for the U.S.A. Every single bit of "good" that might be done by the U.S. will be negated by the growth activities of other countries, and all at the expense of our nation. It's unacceptable, except to the very few who will rule over, and profit from, the new "global" economy. I'm not buying into it.
  5. And Happy Birthday to our exceptional country!
  6. Glad to have you with us!
  7. One thing I've always kept in mind: "If at first you don't succeed...skydiving is probably not for you." I've had enough first-time failures in my life to know better than to push my luck.
  8. Handgun or rifle? Just curious. Either way, it's good shooting!

    Fishing

It's been a while, but I do remember giving the rock bass a generous coat of 'Italian breadcrumbs' as opposed to the light dusting of cornmeal for the perch, bluegills and sunfish. All good, just different.
  10. Short answer: a lot of people don't know, and simply don't care, about what made this country great in the first place.
  11. I won't say for certain, but I'd be willing to bet the perpetrators weren't a handful of gun-toting, bible-carrying, angry white guys from the U.S.
  12. Nice of you to join us Stormshadow!
  13. I don't have any neighbors I don't like. That's part of the reason why I didn't just shoot the 'chuck in my driveway yesterday morning. I was sooooo tempted though. A 25 yard 'gimme' with the .17, and no likely pass-through, was very tempting. I also have #220 conibear traps, but there are some neighborhood house-kitties that wander through and take care of the mice for me.
  14. He'll be going about 100 yards to the shooting range in back. ;-]
  15. Thanks for the help everybody!
  16. I have one living under my shop and he needs to go. Too close to a highway and houses for a bullet. Any suggestions for bait in a Havaheart trap?
  17. It's disturbing that you would find my comment "laughable".
  18. I am not Scott Allen. While I admire your adherence to specific hunting issues Mr. Rossi, they don't really concern me in the face of the larger political issues this year. There is a very real possibility that you will lose the right to even speak about your passion(s), let alone pursue them.
  19. The Just-us Department doesn't even know where Mateen's wife is. I don't imagine they even care at this point because they have their official story. "An innocent Muslim boy was kidnapped by an angry, homophobic gun which commanded him to kill 49 gay American citizens."
  20. So it could be replaced by the Socialist Utopia like we currently see in Venezuela? Or Cuba? Or the failed Soviet Union? Or like we will soon see in Germany, France, or Sweden? We have an opportunity here in the US to stay out of that kind of 'Utopia', and I'm not going to give it up just so that you don't have to work hard and be productive. Edited for spelling ;-]
  21. It's a jab against the writer's claim that he had developed "a case of PTSD" by shooting the gun. The guy is an idiot, and the meme calls him out for it. I'm quite sure it was not directed at soldiers in any way.
