  1. Had a hard time finding this one. It's from back in my music days.
  2. Sunday lunch with my folks and some family today, sitting on their back deck. A tom came out onto the lawn in full strut. I did a really pathetic voice call for show-n-tell with the non-hunters and he started strutting towards us. Human laughter and the barking dog sent him slowly back into the hedgerow where he spent some time ogling a woodchuck. I don't know if he was tone-deaf, blind, or just seriously female-deprived. I'm almost thinking about buying a stamp.
  3. All the best to you! Another notch on the tree of life.
  4. Deerhuntinghippy has some vids here. There are several others, but their names aren't coming to me right now. My apologies to you folks for my senescence.
  5. Was it the calling or the decoy?
  6. Joe Hesseny is a decent and honorable guy. I wouldn't hesitate to use him for a collection of guns to avoid the hassle of individual sales. Unless you show up pretty early you can't even get in the door during one of his gun auctions, and they can get pretty lively. Good for the seller.
  7. Too bullseye. Focuses the attention to the skull, and away from the antlers. JMO Pretty piece of wood though, and a really nice set of antlers.
  8. It's a political chess match on a pre-set board. The 'anti' game plan going in is, "Let's see 'em get outta this one." It's how they continually win the argument. Change the format, and they simply refuse to show up.
  9. It's never big enough Larry.
  10. So we finally get a photo of Turkeyfeathers? Thanks Paula!
  11. Might just as well put everyone out of work, eh... http://www.breitbart.com/california/2016/05/17/tesla-hires-eastern-europeans-5-hour-expand-california-plant/ This is the best idea though... ;-]
  12. Clams on the grill is one of my all-time favorites. As soon as they pop open just add a drop of good hot sauce and let 'em simmer for a bit.
  13. If the only thing Trump accomplishes is re-stoking some good old US patriotism among the citizens I'll call it a win. He's doing pretty well so far.
  14. Quite simply, there weren't any turkeys in my area when I was growing up. It never became part of my life.
  15. It may be a pretty spectacle when they're going up, but it's pollution when they hit the ground.
  16. I'm gonna' get weird here: The things themselves aren't important. The memories represented by the things are what's important. Especially to the people who will eventually deal with your stuff. Write down those related memories and anecdotes because that's what your loved ones will keep. Toss the pile of antlers, but spend some time putting into words why you collected them in the first place. Down the road someone will find your little book of memories even though the antlers are gone, and understand why you collected them.
  17. A happy hunter! Congratulations to both of you.
  18. When my old HP started to sound like my idling diesel tractor I bought a bunch of thumb-drives to get critical files onto the lifeboat. The new Dell is working fine.
  19. My philosophy on tires is: "Buy once, cry once." It's an annoyance with a tow-behind implement, but it's an absolute, day-changing hassle when it's the machine that's doing the pulling.
  20. I can think of worse things Larry. The hardest part is usually finding a soul-mate to go along with it.
