  1. I posted a link to the video last night. Curmudgeon re-posted it this morning. Get your facts straight.
  2. It's entirely possible that it's a 'home-built' piece. A one-off product with no traceable provenance. I've owned a few of them over the years.
  3. Or maybe he was using the universal symbol for "me" or "I", bringing his arms in and pointing toward his chest.
  4. https://youtu.be/aAGxDWKrjPQ Claims have been made that this is official video of the event.
  5. Some undeniable facts: These guys had been asking for almost 4 weeks to meet with the FBI and other Federal officials to fully air their grievances. They were routinely denied any such meeting right up until January 26th when the FBI finally agreed and set the the time and place for the meeting. The confrontation occurred along the travel route to that meeting. These guys spent most of their time gathering public and political support from local people and drinking coffee around a campfire in the middle of nowhere. The FBI, meanwhile, was erecting fences and barricades around the courthouse 30 miles away, 'reserving' sections of the local hospital, 'reserving' ambulances and medi-vac helicopters from other counties, and keeping the MSM 'informed' of the situation.
  6. I agree with you, in principle, that everyone should wait for evidence before allegations are made. The problem is that no one is likely to ever see any real evidence in this case. Brown was killed by a city cop answerable to a whole chain of command, in front of witnesses. It was in the best interest of the authorities to gather evidence and discover the truth. Finicum was killed by either an FBI agent, or more likely a contract Haliburton mercenary hired by the Federal Government, answerable to essentially no one, and the only witnesses were the authorities and those they arrested. I don't even know what the Federal Government considers to be it's 'best interest' any more, but I'll speculate that truth is not a big priority here.
  7. It's not likely to be a problem for much longer. They can't find people who are willing to take the job.
  8. "Because [federal] agents create crime, rather than merely detect it, they hold the power to create the appearance of guilt... Many of the values reflected in our Constitution are directly threatened by these operations." -1984 report, US House Subcommittee on Civil & Constitutional Rights
  9. I've been reading and looking at reports all day. The differences in 'spin' between the MSM, and the right and left-leaning independent sources is absolutely crazy. Lots of speculation, assumption and supposition, with some wishful thinking thrown in. Mostly without any real facts. The problem is, we're not likely to ever see any 'facts' about this from the government. In a broader sense, that's why those guys are there.
  10. I have local lawmakers who see that I'm not gouged in the first place.
  11. You won't see this in the US MSM. Some excellent background from a relatively unbiased Canadian: http://canadafreepress.com/article/78236
  12. They're a lot of fun to hunt bunnies with when they're trained right, but they're a one-owner dog. They'll generally listen to that one owner, but they're apt to bite anyone else.
  13. A drop of water does not an ocean make, but without all those drops of water there is no ocean.
  14. The you's/ewes to which you refer VJP know exactly who they are.
  15. I do more than just gripe about it, Bubba. That's why I'm on a couple of 'lists'.
  16. ...and the dance goes merrily on... We're all on 'a list' somewhere.
  17. Did you duck to miss the intent, or did I duck to miss your humor?
  18. I'm 5 1/2 feet tall. I've modified almost every gun I own to fit me, and most of them have spacers for LOP to accommodate for clothing under different conditions. Here's the test: Close your eyes and quickly shoulder the firearm. Open your eyes. If you have to adjust your body in any way to get a good sight picture, you need to alter the stock. There are whole books on the subject, especially with shotguns, but the bottom line is that struggling to get a good sight picture means you will miss opportunities.
  19. With a side dish of food it wouldn't be bad.
  20. The biggest problem with private ponds is that the Federal Government doesn't want them to be private. As of yesterday the Federal government has extended their "jurisdiction over navigable waterways" to include ponds, creeks, drainage ditches, and even occasional mud-puddles. President Obama yesterday vetoed legislation that would allow you to maintain your own pond as you see fit, and handed that task over to the Federal bureaucrats. I have no idea what they intend to do with their new power, or how they will enforce any new procedures or regulations, but I find it discomforting that they now have a 'legitimate' reason to enter my property simply because I have a drainage ditch.
  21. Maybe I'll spend my money on some new bullets for the .243. I'm still using 1980's bullet technology. :-[ And maybe a new stock with a collapsible butt and a pistol grip. :-}
