  1. I read and reread your post several times before I even commented. It's a big part of what I do. You're angry, but you don't specify who your anger is directed toward. "I'm mad as hell..." can work two ways. Is it anger, or is it actually madness?
  2. Through all the years I've owned and slept in trucks I always had a little piece of carpet outside to wipe my boots on before climbing into the bed, for bed.
  3. I don't understand your argument. I get that you're angry and lashing out, but at whom, exactly, are you lashing out? I don't get it. Please clarify.
  4. Plastic bed liner and tonneau cover. Four extra tires to sweeten the deal. The exterior panel rot hasn't gotten to the inside, she's solid. I have an air mattress for overnight excursions, no need for carpet. Sorry Moog.
  5. In most ways NYS is just a big East Chicago. Concern for the citizenry, the rule of law, and the Constitution take a back seat to the personal power and bank accounts of the people who run it. It's like DC on a smaller scale. I don't know how to fix that. I don't profess to have answers about fixing this mess, but I think that teaching basic civics in grade school rather than Marxist philosophy might be a good start. Hint, hint.
  6. My 2001 Chrysler Town & Country finally gave it up. It wouldn't pass inspection because of the rusted frame, and then the power steering let loose again for the 7th or 8th time. it's parked in my driveway waiting for a salvage hauler. The motor and tranny are good, so I'm hoping for more than the usual $200 junk deal. It was a great and dependable construction work vehicle for ten years, and I won't say anything bad about it. I'll miss it. So long old friend. The new (to me) truck is a 2000 Ford Ranger. I know, it's older than what I just had, but it has a lot less miles and fewer annoying issues. The side panels on the bed look like crap, all rusted out, but the cab is perfect and it runs and drives great. I don't know if we have any Ford Ranger fans here, but the prices have skyrocketed since Ford discontinued the line. I had one back in the late eighties and it was a great truck. Just needed to gloat/vent after a long day of dealing with the paperwork. I'll post some pics when I can. "I'm on the road again." Almost two weeks of being homestead-bound had me going nuts.
  7. I found the cuomo/cynthia nixon debate/dialog very interesting. The farther left that nixon went, the farther left that cuomo was willing to go. Pure political hack playing to the political party. He doesn't care about anything but his own power and bank account. He'll rot in hell.
  8. My condolences; and thoughts & prayers for all the family. Trees will sometimes fight back. I don't believe they're sentient beings, but they absolutely are living and breathing things capable of hurting you.
  9. Since my body has kind of given up on me on now spend most of my time writing nasty political commentaries about leftists. I also shoot in my back yard for practice in case those leftists get any untoward ideas.
  10. I'll await your report with bated breath. I will, however, chime in if there are any irregularities. I've been known to flip open a cell phone in under 45 seconds.
  11. He might win NYS, because the urban population is stupid. But he would never win the country in a nationwide election. He's as stupid as his supporters, and the the majority of Americans reject that. I'll wait for someone to mention that Hillary won the popular vote. It's not hard to get 3m votes in LA and SF from illegal aliens receiving financial benefits. Maybe next time we'll run the election according to the popular vote where only the coastal elites and the illegals have any say. Then again, I'd love to see a football game where the winner was decided by the number of first downs rather than the final score. I know what my strategy would be in that situation, and it wouldn't be very exciting, or very athletic. It also wouldn't prove a damned thing about the athleticism of either team, which is the point in the first place.
  12. I don't have a so-called "smart phone". I have an incredibly dumb cell phone that often doesn't know how to connect calls. Will they still be able to change my ring tone volume and vibration options? Just wondering.
  13. Enjoy the site 911wacker! Lots of good folks here. And, best of luck this year in your endeavors.
  14. What a lot of people have overlooked in this Nike issue: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/09/04/nike-and-levis-strauss-political-business-strategy-the-much-bigger-geopolitical-and-trade-picture/#more-153640 These huge international companies aren't gambling on who in the US will buy or not buy their products. They don't really care. Divide and conquer. Their goal is much broader than that. And it's deeply political.
  15. Sometimes the younger folks just need a good kick in the butt to get 'em back on course. You did a nice thing, and I hope the kid remembers it.
  16. All the best, and prayers for you Eddie. Get well soon.
  17. Whatever you do, don't try to clean it. That's not something you do at home. That's a nice looking coin. I see a lot of crisp detail under the dirt. Great find!! The hair is almost perfect, the collar, the stars... What I mean is that it was likely dropped shortly after it was issued, not years later. That's meaningful. Keep it safe and please don't try to clean it.
  18. I lived in Buffalo for twenty years but I left fifteen years ago. Don't remember "Wing Fest". My advice is to check it out and report back. ;-) What's the downside? Heartburn? :-) P.S. I think my brother and his wife are there this weekend, so I'm expecting a full debrief upon their return. ETA: Enjoy your trip. Buffalo is a lot more fun than people give it credit for.
  19. Never thought of that mmkay. Good tip!! My knowledge has been expanded yet again!
  20. Just wondering. My late grandmother got me hooked in the mid-1960's. She'd go to the bank with a ten or twenty dollar bill and come back with a small sack of change. We'd pore over every coin for hours looking for the silver dimes, quarters and halves. Doesn't happen any more .I haven't found a valuable or precious coin in change in probably twenty years. I still maintain my collection, but most people today just use their bank accounts to buy what they want. I miss the "hunting" aspect of it. Sort of an analogy, I guess.
  21. My friend and his wife used to run the local "Women on Target" NRA firearms introduction course. They would call often asking if I could help out because they were swamped. Just an intro course to firearms, but the gals loved it and it was always a lot of fun.
  22. You might want to actually do a bit of research into that case before making accusations. Martin was a hopped-up MMA wannabe who was likely looking for a fight. Nowhere near the "innocent black child" that was portrayed by the media and the President at the time. It's entirely believable that Martin was the one looking for a fight, and the jury that acquitted Zimmerman saw it that way as well. I researched this case and provided info to numerous people for over three months, including this guy, who got it right: https://www.billwhittle.com/afterburner/lynching
  23. Among my favorites was the Mad Max Thunderdome series. I'm still not sure if I ever saw one of those movies.
  24. My Dad uses a variety of lumber and twine to keep the small trees propped upright. That and judicious thinning of the excess fruit has kept the trees from breaking. Double and triple clusters of fruit won't ripen the way a single fruit will, so it's best to thin them out early. Good luck to you.
