Happy Birthday, Dom!!
-
That mushroom toward the bottom looks a lot like Hillary...
-
Beef variety. Hunting hasn't been an option for me lately. How can you even have a cubesteak without mushrooms covered by melted provolone? Or peppers and onions at least? I'm just kidding. I know some perfectly nice and normal people who eat chicken wings with a knife and fork...
-
Simple and basic this afternoon. Cube steaks with marinated mushrooms and provolone cheese on a nice kaiser roll. Side of the neighbor's asparagus of course.

My understanding is that the U.S. is tied to the 'agreement' for some length of time. Whatever that is. That agreement is not a treaty and is not binding in any way, so the U.S cannot be held to any legal responsibilities or proscriptions. There are no actual rules or mandates involved with the agreement. President Trump said that he will not use U.S. tax-payers money to subsidize the continued poverty of third-world countries, and that he won't subsidize China's manufacturing sector so that they can overtake the U.S. manufacturing sector. This is precisely what the PCA was about from the start.

My Grandmother always used lard or Crisco right on the stovetop. (actually she used cow's tails that were hanging over the stove). Heat the pan and grease it until it's just short of catching on fire and then wipe it out and let it cool. Store it with protection, like a cloth or something so it doesn't get scratched. They're made for relatively high-heat cooking but I've got a couple that are 80+ years old that do fried eggs just fine, and will do a blackened piece of meat that'll knock yer socks off. They've never been exposed to water or soap. Wipe them out with a rag or paper towel and store them carefully.

Asparagus omelette. Fresh asparagus from the neighbor's field, with a couple of tiny leeks, but store-bought eggs and a few chunks of Top's ham. I'm really slipping on here.

Happy Birthday to you!

Lyme disease is not fun. It's screwed up my life in so many ways...
-
I'll come and watch whoever you hire. Maybe kibbitz a bit. ;-)

There's a very good reason why you never hear about arborists being killed while cutting trees from a ladder. It's because we don't cut trees from a ladder, ever. Ever! Ever! We do dangerous stuff for a living, but cutting from a ladder is just plain stupid. You don't grow old doing dangerous work when you're stupid.
-
When it comes to dicey tree work, stick with a known entity. Good job, Biz.

If the access is there it'll likely be done with a bucket truck and a good ground crew. If not it'll be a skilled climber with a really good ground man. Pines are a PITA and messy either way. I don't do that work any more and I don't have a 450 mile long bar on even my biggest saw. ;-)
-
What you're mostly paying for is the comp and liability insurance the company has to have. Arborists pay one of the highest rates going. Then again, when we screw up buildings get crushed and people can die. It was a lot of fun sometimes, but I really don't miss the business overall.

I had 8 bucks walk through my back yard Friday morning. Bachelor group, I suppose. One after the other from my neighbor's yard to my other neighbor's yard. I enjoyed the parade.

We all gripe about gun rights, and who can grow what and where, and whether NYS is becoming Communist, and how big antlers should be. There are young people out there fighting and dying for our right to argue about that. God bless them.

All the best for you Grampy!

God Bless America and the people who have kept it America. We'll never forget.

My favorite wild berry patch was plowed and flattened a couple of years ago. It'll be a housing development soon. :-(

Their impact on music in the early 1970's was huge, and just slightly before my time, but I had all the albums and 8-track tapes. Now I have the digital versions and listen to them often. One of the great bands of all time.

A top part of the legendary Allman Brothers Band. The dude could write, sing, and play. He was 69 YO and will be sorely missed.

Very sad to hear. Treasure the time you had with him.
