  1. That was what Obama chose to do. It was his chosen course of action, or more likely his disinterested course of action, as he never really cared about individual suffering so long as the ideology of collectivism was moved forward. First and foremost on his agenda was bringing the U.S. down to the level of misery suffered by the poorest of the world's nations. President Trump doesn't think about how to divide up the small pie of success. He wants everyone to make their own pie. He wants other countries to help themselves toward that goal.
  2. You might want to focus more on what President Trump did say during that speech rather than on what he didn't say. It was perfectly clear who he was talking about when he said repeatedly to his audience, "Drive them out...". It's not hard to cherry-pick a handful of Trump 'supporters' who will disagree with his wording during that speech, or any other speech for that matter, but the message was loud and clear to the adults in that room. ...the extremists within your religion are screwing up your countries, your people, and the entire world, and it's up to YOU to stop that... What Obama said for 8 years is, "There's no problem." That's the big difference.
  3. I'll concur with the folks above. It's striped maple.
  4. I like it a lot, Larry! The bully-cowards only get away with their behavior when nobody confronts them on it.
  5. As the owner of a "Garage-in-a-box" from Tractor Supply for my tractor (which has worked out well for me), I'll only say that you should make sure that it's fastened securely to the ground. Especially if you're lifting the whole thing away from ground contact so that wind can get in under the sides. These kinds of shelters turn into kites in a heartbeat and can do a lot of damage.
  6. It was a great speech, to say the least! Very motivational and uplifting to those who actually support our country. The negativity on certain sites that don't support our country was astounding. F 'em. They're at liberty to move to Venezuela if they'd like, but they're not at liberty to bring that here.
  7. I don't have TV, but I've watched this show in reruns on Netflix for a few years. It's funny and it's smart, and it's definitely entertaining. http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2017/05/11/abc-cancels-conservative-tim-allen-sitcom-last-man-standing/ Cancelling a very successful TV show for political reasons is simply asinine.
  8. All the best to you Grampy. You know you're a staple here.
  9. For someone who prefers sitting around a dung fire singing Kumbaya, eating sustainable algae cakes, and picking parasites off each other I can see how a prairie dog hunt might seem odd. For those of us with heavy-barreled rifles and truckloads of ammunition who do a service for ranchers it's a different story.
  10. I'm pretty good at felling, but that was a work of art! And I can guarantee it wasn't his first time.
  11. I'm not familiar with these 'redbud' trees, so I don't know their characteristics or whether they're prone to 'barberchairing'. That's when the trunk suddenly splits from the cut point up kicking pieces in oftentimes unexpected directions. That tree reaction can do a lot of damage and can even kill ya'. It's also very common when trying to change the direction of fall from the direction of lean, which is what you're suggesting. And as NYBowhunter said above, definitely do not tie your ATV to the top of that tree! I have a fair amount of experience with chainsaws, both tree service and logging, and I have the right ropes, pulleys and other equipment, but your scenario doesn't sound like something I'd tackle without a bucket truck. It's too risky IMHO. Stay safe.
  12. General Mattis reportedly has a bear rug on the floor of his den. The bear isn't dead, it's just afraid to move.
  13. The Left will stop at nothing to destroy the Trump presidency. And that's exactly what this crap is about. Uday and Qusay Murdoch will gladly destroy the most significant part of their inherited empire if it means the ouster of Trump. It's the way they roll. It's an ideological thing. The people at Fox who hold the Conservative line won't give up: Dobbs, Hannity, Carlson, Bartiromo, and all the others, but they will likely be disbursed to other venues for a while. From this mess will arise a new Phoenix. FNC has been the most watched news outlet for many years, and someone with money will come along and create it anew because it's a proven model there for the taking.
  14. Body language counts for a lot. I'm trying to get better at reading it with regard to politicians, but they generally lie for a living so it's difficult. Here's an easy read from this morning from Chuck Schumer in an interview with Cris Wallace. The smirks and lip-licking from Schumer are the giveaway that he doesn't believe a word of what he's actually saying. Even Wallace wasn't able to put up with it, though he did throw Schumer a bone at the end. LOL
  15. I don't think there is a religion-based prohibition on the Amish having their pictures taken. I've personally taken many photos over the years in the sawmills I've done business with, and they're usually quite proud of their operations and the fact that someone would care to photograph them and their machinery.
  16. That's essentially what a burka is if used for nefarious reasons. An ID card without a photo is not actually an ID card. This is precisely what the gal in the video said at the end. Anyone wearing a burka and carrying a legal non-photo gun license in Canada has access to guns. Gee, I wonder what could go wrong with that.
  17. Zinke is isolating blatant Federal land grabs from actual National treasures. Most of these treasures are already protected by the States in which they are located.
  18. Obama was never looking for conservation or openness of access. He was looking for centralized control through 'land grabs'. He wanted the Federal Government to have total control over land use; who would have access and when, and for what purposes. The individual States are better suited to making those determinations because they know their citizens, and the politicians know their constituents, whereas the Feds have "one size fits all" solutions to the land-ownership issue. What works in Utah doesn't work in NY, and what works in Hawaii doesn't work in Alabama. The Federal Government rarely makes these distinctions. Trump is trying to give the States back their lands to manage as they see fit. I find it odd that so many citizens put so much trust in the Feds, and so little in the States and the People. After all; the People control the States, and the States control the Union (the Feds). At least that's how our nation started.
  19. I wonder what affect the circumstances will have on their '72 virgins in paradise' plan. LMAO.
  20. Just an honest individual, who speaks his mind, and also realizes that the flag represents his ability to speak his mind. I had tears in my eyes.
  21. I had Sunday lunch with my folks, as usual, and then held the pry bar while my dad used a small sledge hammer on it to beat the right front quarter panel of my van into position so that my passenger side door can be opened. The deer I hit had pushed it back almost a half an inch. Then I split some wood with my brother.
  22. Accidents with chainsaws are over in half the blink of an eye. You can be bleeding to death on the ground for several minutes before you even realize that something went wrong. Get the appropriate training and PPE, and always pay attention. I haven't personally had any direct saw incidents/cuts, but I have been severely pinned or pinched by branches and trunks under tension that wasn't foreseen while they were laying on the ground. I've gotten a lot smarter over the years about reading those situations, and part of my PPE now is having a friend nearby with a cellphone.
