Plain jane Federals & Tru-balls have always been my top choice for slugs in my old Ithaca & Remington mod 11. I've never shot the hybrids, but I know without a doubt that sabots will shoot all over the place out of a smooth bore.

I just give my boss a heads up on Fridays and let him know if I'll be available or not. I just had 2 emergency plumbing calls yesterday and it's hard to pass up double pay! I'm lucky in that my boss loves venison. Last week when I mentioned deer season coming up he said, oh are you gonna take a few days off". I declined the offer, but early November will be different!

A daunting task indeed! I don't see them making any exceptions for atv use on state land. The next guy could get the wrong idea and think it's ok if they see you. Another reason would be that it could disturb other hunters.

I start a using estrus a little earlier to simulate the first hot doe. It drives the young bucks mad, but could entice mature bucks as well. I'm a believer in a 100-120yd scent drag. Does will follow the trail too.

haha yeah I think the DEC was a little quick to discount the swine's destructive nature. Maybe they really are intentionally kicking themselves in the foot to allow the dispersion of a new huntable species. The last thing I heard of them is that the USDA wouldn't fund any more trapping, but at the same time the DEC announced that we could no longer shoot the piggies.

I've heard a couple bear vs. car accidents over the scanner in the past few weeks in Broome/Delaware counties. Plenty of deer vs. car too.

On the contrary. I thrive on those pulse pounding moments and have learned to harness it for extreme focus. I am an addicted to that rush!
