Maybe a rimfire, (trying to stay non serious) lol.. Or I would use a close range pistol. Taking head shots only. Otherwise absolutely not.. A turkey's head hardly ever stays still.. and a body shot with a centerfire probably would lose meat.. So i guess, no? lol

Your easiest way if you dont have equipment is to let it green up, once green and growing, spray your anticipated clover strips with gly. Spread your clover seed over it (with Oats or Wheat) and pack it in. shortly before rain. You can do this all in 1 day as well.

Logging roads and small kill plots
LET EM GROW replied to onlybrowning's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
If you have enough sunlight getting to these areas( green vegetation currently growing) Your best bet is a blend of small cereal grains, fescue and several clovers red and whites. You may also have to break the surface up some if its too compact. But sunlight is crucial with logging roads and small plots.. Sometimes its easier to add hard or soft mast trees to these areas instead, as you can pick the tree species to drop its crop the time of season you want to utilize the area.. -
Longbeard XR vs Cabela's choke tubes
LET EM GROW replied to UpStateRedNeck's topic in Turkey Hunting
Just pay attention to your constriction sizes as you try these chokes and what your patterns are doing. Its not just the brand of choke that makes a gun perform.. Constriction sizes of these chokes are what matter most, choke design can/will further that performance, with certain loads. Mossberg 500 is not overbored like the 835 or other guns.. So typically a tighter choke will usually help. when i shot my 500, i had a undertaker in it and it was lights out to 50(on paper) -

Longbeard XR vs Cabela's choke tubes

Definitely try the undertaker. And I’ve seen the truglo.. never too impressed. If your willing to spend a few extra.. Indian creek or Jebs are phenomenal choke makers. Also. Deep clean your barrel.. scrub it good then polish it up so it shines like a diamond. Shooting over and over and over exapecially different types of loads will ruin the next pattern. Longbeard XR vs Cabela's choke tubes

I would try a cheap undertaker choke tube. Worked well in all my 500 guns. I’ve got a few that could be borrowed as well, but most certainly need back. LOL I have a tightwad 660, undertaker 665 and a factory xxfull 670 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I quick cleaned it and let the boy shoot it. It throws a pretty nice pattern with 7.5s at 25 yards. Dead bird all day. I’ll bring some stuff home from work and deep clean, smoothen and polish the hell out of it. Can’t hurt anyways LOL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Its not the prettiest and looks to have been shot, even the chokes. But I’ll do some work to it. .. looks almost as if it has rings every few inches down the barrel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Got the call from the shop that the new Rossi Tuffy were back in stock. They held one for me so I swung in and grabbed it. Put a red dot on top and got a choke coming for it.. this will be for the youth hunters .. hope to make it a 40-50 yard killer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Longbeard XR vs Cabela's choke tubes

What gun is this again? A turkey choke and turkey load combo these days should get you to 40 with ease. I’d definitely keep max range to 30 with this setup. Depending on how close you like to shoot your birds. I would also shoot #6 if you do not plan to shoot long distances. Added pellet count but still effective to 40+ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Dang. Same here. Looking to sight mine in if we get warmer calm dry weather. Just found 2 youth hunters to take out. Would like to get this 28 dialed in .. I have the Factory Full, Indian Creek and a Carlsons to test out for it
-
For a 25 yrd even pattern Im guessing the factory choke will warrant your best outcome? 7s or 6s would send a wall no bird would pass at that range. lol. Complete hammers

That is sweet!

Atv for ice fishing
LET EM GROW replied to Buckmaster7600's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
Just seeing this now, but i have these on my quad. I think its the best all around ATV tire for off road use.. Havent been on open ice but the lugs being more across the tire rather than in the same direction of rotation would lead me to think it would act like a tire chain somewhat. https://www.sunftires.com/product/sunf-a033-tire-combo/ -
Nice, I used mcarbo on several guns. Until I found one of my tooling drawers was full of music wire spring. Can make it heavy or light as I want now lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Those guns are nasty with some expensive shot! Nice rig! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have one and hate it. Probably the worst money Ive spent. Lol. probably going to give it to a friend. and go back and drill and tap the receiver or put my saddle mount back on the 870. I cant get mine to not move after recoil. Ive even wedged it (which shouldnt have to be done) and it continues to move after recoil. Neighbor wants it. Told him he can have it lol

I have some custom Tungsten turkey loads made up for it. But as always i will patttern them and see how they do to learn my limits most certainly. Looking forward to it. My first OU gun. Been a dream of mine since I was a kid. Trap, Bunny Turkey gun

Took me forever to figure out how to get pictures on here. I got a new phone and it won’t let me email them and insert pics on the website. So I downloaded tapatalk on the new phone so her goes. Sorry it’s been so long. It’s currently being setup for turkey. Indian creek choke up top and full choke in bottom barrel for now. When nicer weather comes I’ll pattern it with. The 1.5oz tungsten loads I have for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
