  1. What a nice mount that would make.. tough to do, but what a conversation piece
  2. No.. if you don't take him, someone else MIGHT. But he would be a nice first buck for a 16 year old kid...
  3. Thank you sir.. and good to have you on the forum.
  4. yeah he has a bruiser of a body! BIG BIG
  5. Cool Buck... might have had a hormone imbalance... are the antlers hard or soft?
  6. some good looking bucks there fellas... Four Season... I think the 125 is pretty close... maybe a tad bit higher.. very handsome whitetail.
  7. Oops sorry geno i went back and read your other post about seeing him 2 years ago... he defintiely has the body size to be older and if he was bigger 2 years ago I'd say you're in the ballpark..good luck
  8. Nice buck for sure.. what makes you think he's 5 1/2?
  9. Now thats a slob!!! Great Buck!!
  10. very good buck... right now he's liking that spot at night...but I'd be in that stand every day!! All he has to do is make one little mistake and you or your son might have a great story to tell.
  11. sounds about right.. not much mass but good width and height
  12. That is the same for me.. when I'm not working I don't make money.. like others here I have learned to balance my work and pleasure time... loving what you do for a living makes it easier... at 52 I've learned how to work smarter not harder, which affords me the income to make my own decisions when it comes to time off and not be a slave to my job... I also have made a rule.. that if I can't make a living doing what i do 40 hours a week, I will do something else.. no overtime or weekends ever for me... and sometimes no fridays.. I can do 40 in 4 days..
  13. I'm not sure I ever heard anyone say that they had absolutely no deer to shoot... maybe big bucks...and I'm positive that dmps have never resulted in a 0 population of does anywhere...sometimes hunters confuse their ability to see or kill deer with the amount of deer available when it is probably more related to their "ability to see and kill deer"... I have hunted with guys that piss and moan that they never see deer on the property ... and I usually don't have the heart to tell them how many bucks I passed on just that day..lol
  14. I have always made time for the things that I love to do... my dad passed at 59 and was the "I can't wait 'til retiement so I can do all the things I've always wanted to do" unfortunately retirement never came for him... I have always been a do it now type of guy and my father use to hate that... about 2 weeks before he died he said to me.. "If I had it all to do over again I'd do it just like you"... I made myself the promise that I will never say that... if I die tomorrow.. I go knowing that I've had a pretty good ride while it lasted... no regrets.. I'm going hunting!!
  15. I think I'd stay away from the golden rod during deer season from now on...
  16. Definitely a shooter... would score as a non-typical... not 170.. but up there... what a great buck...!! FYI.. NY book is 165 for a non-typical with gun 145 with bow.. i think he'd make the book with bow but not really sure with gun
  17. Although I think there is validity in the moon phase theory.. I'm not one for gimicky hunting and chasing theories..like WNY says.. nothing can replace being in the woods as much as possible.
  18. I'd have said something.. they might appreciate knowing that people are hunting there and maybe take a liking to you for passing on the info... could get you at least access through their land to get to where you want to go.
