  1. You still have your guns... that's what they have done. I can't make you see what you refuse to see. So please do carry on and the NRA will continue to fight the fight while you sit and watch, complaining from the sidelines.
  2. My post was about the failure of gun owners to get to the voting booth to vote out Cuomo and then blaming the NRA for failing. Not sure how you get from that to big business. Let your heart not be troubled... your wish of living in a fantasy world is real. Financing the largest 2nd Amendment advocate in the world is doing something... they are the single reason there still is a 2nd Amendment in this country... I have gone to numerous rallies and I'll bet you dime to donuts you weren't there. Lots of people talking the talk, very little walking the walk.
  3. This is the real reason the NRA has abandoned NY... NY gun owners alone could have voted Cuomo out of office, but instead apathy prevailed. Based on some of the negative NRA comments here and gun owner voting records in NY it is easy to see that the NRA is not the problem... ignorant, apathetic, cry baby, do nothing gun owners are.
  4. Yeah just that time of year when deer change their coats and look scraggly.
  5. I went from a manhatten made with Crown Royal to just pouring a glass of Crown and waving the vermouth over the glass. I'm a straight whiskey on the rocks guy now with a 4 glass limit. Whiskey is like women's breasts... one is not enough and three is too many
  6. There ya go... you made a decision to live with democrats without shooting them on sight. We should give predators the same respect.
  7. Okay.. the "Belpist" thing is funny!!! Belo.. you gotta admit that was funny!
  8. I wasn't speaking to the den... I am speaking to the attitude of many on here towards predators in general.. and stand by what I said... and if you don't like mountain lions, don't live in mountain lion country.
  9. Exactly! This idea of using isolated incidences like these to wage a full scale war on predators does not speak well for so called sportsmen. For those that tout themselves as sportsmen who care about wildlife conservation this kind of thinking only reinforces my opinion that you are not!
  10. Love venison, but I have had it cooked so poorly that even I couldn't eat it... and that's saying something! If cooked properly it is easily my favorite red meat. Funny though, I don't really care for ground venison... it's not really about the taste so much as it is the texture. I donate all my ground venison.
  11. I am so that last minute guy and always forget something... have even forgotten shells for the shotgun. That makes for a less than successful day of hunting.

    Challenge

I don't think bucks have done a worse job of surviving as much as for years they were the only sex that was hunted to a great extent... it is only in recent years that the idea of killing does on a large scale became popular and allowed by NYS.

    Challenge

The fact that the buck leaves so much sign and advertises himself more... should make one wonder how he can be so hard to find. That alone I believe tells which is the more challenging of the two. If you have ever tracked deer you know that bucks, especially big bucks, travel differently and more evasively than does... staying in cover wherever possible. If not for the breeding season most hunters might never see a buck. Especially those that sit in a stand year in and year out.
  14. I have always been fond of antler meat. So yeah, antler meat... final answer.
  15. I bet it is closer to 95 or 100% that hunt for meat and 100% for those that wouldn't be against shooting a big antlered buck. It just depends on how you ask the question.
  16. Using the "Nocturnal" excuse for not seeing or killing deer has always seemed ridiculous to me. If you can't find your car keys, you go looking for them. You don't sit on the couch and wait for them to show up. Also, the biggest reason that deer go into hiding mode is human scent or sighting humans in their habitat... they do not process the noise from gunshots the way you say. In fact, the sound of gun shots in the distance has little or no impact on a deer.
  17. I think it speaks to the style and hunting ability of today's hunter and the lack of hunter numbers. I think that hunter numbers can also be deceiving... when of those hunters most get out very few times during the season.
  18. I try not to think of not being able to hunt t
  19. find out what the taxes are first...LOL
  20. That sounds a little high to me, but I guess whatever you are comfortable paying is a fair price.
  21. I have the slowest internet speed that Spectrum allows... 15mbps... it actually tests much higher... in the 20's for download and about 5-6 mbps for upload. You only need 5 mbps download speed to stream. I haven't had an issue since I went cable free and stream full time... even with my wife and I using the internet at the same time. The only issues I have had are when we have a house load of people and everyones phone connected to the wifi at once... which seldom happens.
  22. I have paid $6 per acre for years... $3600 for 600 acres. Many farmers will lease their land for the taxes, which is a good start when approaching a landowner to lease his land.
  23. I like coyote hunting as well... but not because I think they "deserve a dirt nap" for doing what comes natural to them "
  24. Wild animals do NOT have a cognitive thought process... it does not understand anything it reacts to stimuli based on instinct... and knows nothing about recoloring things
  25. After game to survive and after game as a sport are two different things... we have the ability of choice the coyote is only working on instinct and what it does naturally... just like all the other animals in the wild
