  1. Haha happened to me for the first time to. I thought it was a piece of crap until I remembered I turned it off. I have a few of my stands marked and can check wind conditions/ temp at any one anytime. Can also use it as a gps to find your stands in the dark. Its definitely not accurate to the nearest foot but gets you within 10-15 foot most times.
  2. Check out the Mossy Oak hunting/Weather app by Scoutlook its shaping up to be one of my favorites.
  3. Sat for the first time tonight from 3:30 to dark. Saw around 15 does only 2 in range to hot yet for me to be considering filling the freezer with a doe. Saw 3 bucks a spike , a 3 pointer and a 8 pointer. The 3 pointer and 8 where fighting way out of range. None of them came any closer. Felt good to be out finally.
  4. Do you ever hit your arm with the string under normal circumstances...I can shoot just fine with a light jacket on without any modifications. Are you certain your draw length is correct and not a hair long?
  5. Some guys like to wear an arm guard that fits over your large jacket. With a heavy jacket that's the only option I can think of. Other than electrical tape wrapped tight around jacket. Which I had to resort to for awhile when I lost my arm guard.
  6. Have been doing pretty well lately. Averages of around 9 birds killed each venture out. More and more geese each time out but unfortunately the September season is quickly coming to an end (tomorrow).
  7. For field hunting, Remington 700 in 25-06 Remington 100 grain Core Lokts. Cabelas Alaskan Guide series 3x9 Walking, Remington 7600 carbine in 30-06 with Remington 150 grain Core Lokts. Bushnell Trophy 3x9
  8. Unfortunately with work and this crappy weather I've only been out 3 times. The first time out we managed 13 geese opening day. The second trip we hunted on the water, saw nothing and heard only one. The last trip before these awful storms my buddy and I managed 9 which seems great, however only 2 flocks came in and once the shooting seized we were done. Haven't noticed many birds at all lately, hopefully with this cooler weather birds will start to move.
  9. I did a quick search and this Redfield fits your needs. Normally 199 down to 139. Very good reviews http://www.cabelas.com/product/Bargain-Cave/Optics/Rangefinders%7C/pc/105591780/c/105675480/sc/105677280/Redfield174-Raider-550-Rangefinder/729064.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Frangefinders%2F_%2FN-1102695%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105677280%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253Bcat105591780%253Bcat105675480&WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat105591780%3Bcat105675480%3Bcat105677280
  10. You'll be alright. Leafs, twigs and even small saplings are no match for the bolts fired with laser like accuracy and speed.
  11. Make sure you try it before you buy it. The draw is smooth but its still built for speed and will be different if your not used to it. Short brace height, and not much of a valley. Cant be lazy with this one give it some slack and it will want to take off. If your form is off you'll find out real quick. Remember you wont be shooting 350, actually probably not even close with a 28 in draw. Still quick but not 350. Sick bow I'd buy one in a second if funds were available. Just be warned...
  12. Going to need more info. Number of things to be considered. Need draw weight, type of cam, going to be used for 3d, target or hunting?
  13. Made it to 16 gets hard after the graph marks are gone
  14. Somethings wrong I believe. I'd call dicks. The super Sportsman should include... All the privileges that apply to fishing, small game, big game, bowhunting and muzzleloading licenses and a turkey permit.
  15. We got 13 Sunday. Not bad for the opening of the early season. Not to many birds around yet. Feels weird having more than 3 rounds, but I could get used to it.
  16. I heard some horror stories of wooden stocks splitting when the sleds first came out. All that force has to go somewhere. Personally I would allow the rifle to move some with recoil.
  17. James Fuller "Jim" Fixx (April 23, 1932 – July 20, 1984) was the author of the 1977 best-selling book, The Complete Book of Running. He is credited with helping start America's fitness revolution, popularizing the sport of running and demonstrating the health benefits of regular jogging. Fixx died in 1984 at the age of 52.
  18. I simply used permanent marker on my trophy ridge when i had it. Now with my ascent I use a label maker that's sticker happen to fit perfect on the sight. I like knowing exact yardages and finding a computer generated tape that read perfect from 20 to 70 yards proved difficult so I just made my own.
  19. Yup you'll get that. Mine was the exact same way. I left it outside for weeks letting it get rained on and what not, it got much better. Now they pull out very easily. Just have to let the "new" wear off it seems.
  20. About 1 hour ago there were two slammers. I guess there's also a 13 point that has been feeding.
  21. Hey guys check this one out...http://www.thecrush.tv/deer-cam Not from around here but kinda cool to see the deer feeding. Its located on one of Lee and Tiffany's farms, still haven't spotted Tiffany...still looking.
  22. Both work great and are very popular. You'll get better penetration with either. I personally used muzzy 3 blades until I graduated to expandable's. The Muzzys gave me no reason to switch, but the blood trails of the big 2 inch expandable's helped my decision.
  23. Well by the looks of it they'll be running out of food pretty quickly and will have to move on. My advice as long as there not hurting anyone is to leave them be. Beaver are interesting to watch as long as there doing no harm. If they get to be a problem it would be easy to get rid of them quickly.
  24. Must of been low budget. I liked the guy in the tree, looks excited lol.
