Like the rack on the one that 15 y/o kid on the first page got. Pretty funky.

Sounds like you have a good one then. That's why I said "might". Sounds like that particular shop does hose you. The place I go will mount the scope for zippo if you buy it there.

I don't mind paying a little more because I know that last week the guy behind the counter was selling guns and next week he'll be selling guns. With the big box stores you might get someone who was selling drywall last week, this week he's mounting scopes wrong on rifles and next week he might be selling TVs.

People down South use buckshot all the time and everyone is always griping about all the "poachers" running around shooting them with rimfires. Grenades and rocket launchers aren't firearms either.
-
Umm, how about buckshot, birdshot, rimfires, handguns and archery equipment?

There was something about being able to use a liquid attractant that was under 1oz but I don't know if it would fall under that or not.

The problem is the focus is always on the gun and not the nutjob. He could've accomplished exactly the same thing if he had killed his mother then stolen her car and tore into the playground on recess. What needs to change is we need to give up on the feel-good HR approved politically correct BS of "tolerance" and letting these time-bombs roam free in society. Yes they are mentally ill, no one is arguing that point. Lock the lunatics up in the friggin' asylum where they can't hurt anyone. When one of these animals actually survives and goes to court the hand-wringing starts and "Oh no, you can't execute them, they have an illness." Well boo-goddang-hoo ya' Nancy, it is evident that they are sick in the head. If you are at the point where your mind is so far gone that you don't realize that it is wrong to murder a school full of children or go to work and kill your coworkers or put your baby in a microwave then there ain't no coming back from that.

I know it's a little late now but if anyone ever wants to know the year of manufacture for a Ruger they have a place you can look it up by serial # right on their website. Don't even have to call them.

I can never understand why people have trouble grasping this either Culver. There is a local radio station here that I haven't listened to in years because of opinions they have given on issues I feel strongly about. People are constantly telling me that I am being foolish because "they have a right to free speech". I realize that which is why I don't try to get them off the air, I just don't listen. Like somehow their right to say something I find reprehensible overrides my right to not listen. I don't shop at any of the big box sporting goods stores anyway because I prefer to give my business to my local archery/trapping/gun shops. If I were so inclined though I would probably look elsewhere now.

How long do you leave your powder and bullet in the gun
covert replied to mark3885's topic in Muzzleloaders
I loaded mine on the first day of southern tier muzzleloader. I hunted with it every day; warm, cold, raining, snowing, dry; every night it came in the house and was stuck in the cabinet. This afternoon when I knew I was done hunting for the season I took aim, squeezed and BOOM. I have a stainless/syn NEF Huntsman .50 cal that after leaving it loaded the entire season with Pyrodex pellets (that people say I shouldn't use because they break apart and absorb moisture), Powerbelt bullets (that people tell me aren't accurate in the Huntsman) and a Swift straight 4 power scope. At 100 yds I drilled the target almost dead nuts in the center. MAN that thing has a nice trigger! -
I didn't even know where it started or ended up. I always just check what's under View New Content.

It won't work to prevent something like this but for your general repeat offenders, bring back prison hulks. Take all this trash and stick them out in the ocean on old retired cargo vessels. Take away all the dirty magazines, cable TV and other creature comforts, feed them gruel twice a day and every other day walk down the cell block with a fire hose pumping water out of the ocean. Let them spend a couple years in that and they'll never want to go back. Any croak during their stay tip them over the gunnels and let the sharks clean them up.

It was a combination of the temperature and the noise of the ice popping and creaking that did it for me. I am scared of ice and I'm not afraid to admit it. When I was big in snowmobiling I refused to ride on ice too. Ice and snakes; both scare me. And spiders on the field. And bees in my helmet and quicksand. Quicksand's a scary mother.

I went once and don't see that ever happening again. I was not impressed in the least. Besides, I think I've only eaten one fish that I caught in my life so I ain't sitting on top of water that is over my head, freezing my tail off to catch and release. I haven't even been open water fishing in at least three years.

Yep you're right, I had the body of water on the wrong side of the state. Corrected my previous post to avoid giving bad info, thanks. I didn't actually watch the second video so I didn't see the part about shooting a buzzard, I was just going off the title.

Just don't shoot a bear over it.

Anyone know if it's illegal to shoot beaver in LA? You can shoot muskrat on Lake Champlain with .22 LR but not anywhere else in the state. Doc, maybe they were anti's figuring if they made a bunch of noise it would push the deer away from the hunters?

WOLVES KILL MOOSE PICS TAKEN FROM TREESTAND
covert replied to hunterman7956's topic in General Hunting
Why not? I'd shoot as many as I had tags for. How often will you get a chance to shoot a wolf? -
How do you know they were all dumped at the same time?
