If you hunt NT bow deer before 10/1 you HAVE to use last year's tags.

Am familiar with the area, familiar with the names involved, have seen the trailer. All are pretty squirrely. The condition of the trailer would explain why he was sleeping outside.

The way I look at it is if the majority of the people in NYC cared about being able to look out for themselves and not be reliant on the hope that someone could get there in time to help them, they would throw out the people in charge and change the laws. If they don't care enough to change it, why should I when their restrictive gun laws (just like their soda laws, salt laws, trans fat laws etc) don't affect me because I have not, nor will I ever, set foot there?

Well I watch the bucks parade by my stands from 09:00 - 10:30 almost every morning so I guess I'll get out there about 08:00 on opening morning and should be back to the house before lunch.

I carry with a loaded chamber all the time, I think WNY pretty much covered why. The best safety is between your ears anyway. As long as you handle any gun properly it shouldn't matter whether you have a hot chamber or not. Not sure about what this fellow was doing but I frequently carry a small auto in my pocket, but it's in a pocket HOLSTER. They make them that the gun goes in and the whole works goes right in your pocket. It keeps the gun pointing in the right direction and keeps crap from getting jammed in the muzzle and in the trigger guard.

I've gotten repeat pictures of bucks a lot. Sometimes I have gotten them seemingly tripping it on purpose over and over. One thing I did do was to take a piece of electrical tape and cover the little red LED that blinks when it is triggered because I did get some pics/vids where it looked like the blink spooked them. Now they will stand right there sometimes for up to 10 minutes (for the ones hung on apple trees) and eat and never even seem to notice the camera.

It's an issue of left vs right because typically it is the Left who come up with these types of knee-jerk feel good laws so they can feel like they're accomplishing something. The lunatic who shot up the movie theater had his apartment booby-trapped and rigged to explode with enough stuff to level the building. Can you honestly tell me you believe that he couldn't have 1) lied when they asked him what he wanted the ammo for and 2) if he couldn't get it he would've just thrown up his hands and not gone through with his evil plot with explosives instead? I shoot a lot so before I started handloading I would buy most of my ammo at the gun shows in Syracuse so I'd buy 3-4000 rounds at each show. If my friend couldn't go I'd grab some for him too. I know people who will pitch in and get a big order together to get a better deal on shipping. When you could still get Federal .22LR 550 rnd bulk packs at WalMart for $9.99 I'd grab three or four on payday to stock up for the summer. I have news for you, there are evil people out there who aren't right in the head. They are going to do evil s - - t. Once they have already commited themselves to breaking the ultimate laws of God and man in murdering people, the threat of a felony weapons charge ain't gonna' stop them.

In our camp in the Adirondacks, since '99 most of the bucks have been killed Nov 14 -18.

I use fixed because it's one less variable to worry about. The G5 Montecs shoot close enough to the same as my field points that I can't tell the difference.

If it was does only I would probably still go just for the sake of going, but I'm not sure I would ever take one. I was brought up to never shoot does. I "know" in my head that it is sometimes good to shoot some of the does and I've even drawn down on them before but I just couldn't bring myself to squeeze that trigger. I understand all the arguments for it and some of them even make sense, but it's tough to overcome all those years of Dad and the old timers telling you not to.
