Since it's not in the public yet, it makes ME wonder who both of you are. -
Trump Explained

Maybe no one lied? Maybe misinformed? http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/florida-election-officials-trumps-left-off-ballot-37669373 -
I like this time of year, especially this year. Hiking/scouting, already had the tent's up once to start airing out last weekend, made a call to a state campground to see if they were going to open early and/or if they still allow camping in the off season if the weather permits, trout season around the corner. I am always looking for something to do outdoors, all year. It was nice to be hunting small game again this season. I admit, missed being on my board, but I still made the best of it.

I just marinade the meat in Worcestershire, a bit of low sodium soy sauce, and what ever spices for what I am making. Most popular recipe I have is; 1 cup Worcestershire 1 teaspoon low sodium soy sauce ( spices aren't really measured ) garlic powder onion powder paprika a tiny bit of cayenne pepper powder marinade for 24 hours pat dry and then sprinkle with cracked black pepper. No smoker or dehydrator so it's super low and slow in the oven with the door propped open a bit to allow moisture to escape.

At least there is some progress being made. I don't get the Albany issue with the crossbow. I have hunted the Pine Bush Preserve which is archery only for the deer season, but, once deer season is over you can hunt there with a shotgun using only non-toxic ammo. If you can use a shotgun for small game, why not a crossbow for deer? Scratching my head over this for a while now.

Nice. Did you make that rack? I always buy the heavy duty toothpicks and let the meat hang down between the slots on the rack and use a drip pan.

This show like any other has it's share of lulls. Three more episodes ( I think ) left to get things interesting again. I am wondering how Glen will be now. He hadn't killed a living person before Sundays show had he?

I wasn't able to find these. They are priced far below Rio, Cabelas has them at a starting point of $15.99. That's doable for hunting, but still steep for practice shooting. I know that doesn't help with the shipping issues, but it does give a price point. I hope the local shops start carrying them, or at least for Dicks to actually stock what they say they have. I found one box of the Rio at local shop and have not seen another box on the shelf there. This thread is more or less just going in circles. Time to get focused on Spring turkey and camping. Enjoy the 'debate' people.

I wasn't aware it was a contest. Just an informative debate. OK, I have been looking, the one phrase that keeps showing up in all these studies is this: . As for finding CDC on lead poisoning in children from eating wild game, Can't seem to find Anything. Here's a pic of the search I did, and I did not find one link on 3 pages ( 30 links ) that had CDC in the study or article.

Biz, you are always on vacation. Deer season comes and you go to some exotic vacation spot while the rest of us are in the woods hunting. LOL

I agree Belo. It was a great show. It showed how being isolated in the woods alone can mess with your mind in a big way. Fear becomes an enemy you need to either embrace or let take over. As for this season of Naked And Afraid, it's looking like they are going in a slightly different direction. A little more along the risky side. Not liking the subtle change.

I was reading up on some good striker materials. It seems acrylic ( what I have now ) and Hickory work well. But acrylic works best in all conditions where as wood strikers, even the really hard woods soften up a bit with the moisture of a cool early morning in May. Still leaning towards Hickory as a second striker.

At the bold part, are you serious? What? Am I back in school where I have to raise my hand too? Where's the bathroom pass? I have go #2 Mr. Rossi. Geez, As for some people not being happy about the price of non lead ammo, I think it's very relevant to this topic. The person who buys lead shotgun ammo for $6 a box may not be able to afford to buy his/her usual ( this is an example ) 10 boxes a year when the cost would be more then triple that. If you think those people, people like me are irrelevant, you are the only one over stepping here. I said, it may cause a drop in ammo sales. No one can validate or prove something that hasn't happened yet. You asked questions or more specific for a 'debate'. If you don't like the answers, don't ask the questions. This thread has been peppered more or less about doves, and then it got the point it was inevitably going to reach with this: Looking at this, and seeing it's all about doves, again, I think it proves the majority of dove hunters want to keep using lead ammo. Just sayin'. As for proving the bullet points? The stats you posted don't even really go with your 'bullet points'. They are facts ( maybe, where's the links to prove your stats are correct ) based on the opinions and feelings of others. An opinion isn't a fact.

Moral of the story, no matter how smart you think you are, someone will always be smarter then you.

I don't see many hunters quitting hunting if they made lead ammo illegal. I do think there may be a drop in ammo sales until the cost gets a little more equal to lead prices, especially for shotgun ammo. As for starting a new thread on this topic, go for it. You won't hurt my feelings one bit. But, to alter this thread now because you did a side step and re thought how you worded things would render this thread worthless.

I made a beef roast with steamed baby potatoes and asparagus. Sorry, no pic. By the time we did shopping and finished yard work we were hungry and getting a pic wasn't on my list of things to do. LOL

Every "few years". So that lead dropped on a day when the ground wasn't removed will still have lead on and in the ground. The point is, it's not just hunters leaving lead behind. Agree or disagree?

Bone in chicken breast from the grill. First a little rub for 40 minutes ( helps the sauce stick if you put rub on first ), then first brushing of Sweet Baby Ray's, then a brushing every ten minutes for another 40 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes and served with pasta salad, homemade hot garlic pickles and homemade hot cherry peppers.

Vintage Fishing Tackle For Sale
DirtTime replied to BizCT's topic in Non Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
Cool. -
I like the serenity of camping on a small lake with few or no other campers. Watching a sunrise or sunset over a lake is so peaceful. Plus, the fishin' ain't bad either.

Very sorry to hear that First-light. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Actually a note on Doves....MrVJP just reminded me of something I wanted to bring up... Skeet shooters. They leave more lead on the ground then probably 100 average hunters. Doves are all over the place, so maybe they are ingesting lead from skeet ranges. Isn't the big reason they die of lead is because it looks like a seed they love to eat?

Vintage Fishing Tackle For Sale
DirtTime replied to BizCT's topic in Non Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
It's not all vintage Biz, I have used some of the lures in the third pic ( or at least likeness of them ). Or maybe I am getting old.......... Be careful with selling those lead sinkers, the anti-lead militia might come down on you! J/K I would ask $350 to leave room to haggle. A collector would jump on this stuff in a heartbeat. Good luck with the sale. -
Awesome! It's also a good way to get them used to the sound of a gun.
