  1. Before I bought my faktor I shot a few Mathews but just couldn’t warm up to them.didn't care for the grips and how they felt top heavy to me. I have a 32 inch draw so there’s never a bow in my drawlength to try in the shops. But I have always had very good luck with Hoyt’s.. One bow brand I would like to try out is s Darton, I would like to see how Rex’s cam system feels on the draw..
  2. Well that was your whole problem right there it was a PSE . Just kidding .. As for the charger I did shoot one and I will tell you for a bottom dollar bow it was a shooter no doubt.i would have bought one but they didn’t offer it in a long draw . If I remember right the first year Hoyt came out with the charger it was out selling their high end bows , that’s how good of a bow it was . So the next year Hoyt put plastic limb pockets on it to make it less desirable. we will have to agree to disagree on wether it’s the bow or the person shooting it. Besides can’t keep having a disagreement with a fellow Hoyt shooter, I mean your a guy that knows quality in a bow when you see it. Now if you shot a Mathews .....,
  3. Got ya, so let me ask this question then, do you think a 94 superslam would be a easier , better or more consistent bow to shoot than say a Hoyt charger ?
  4. Ok so Your saying that there’s a difference between a newer lower end bow and newer top of the line bow, but there really isn’t a difference between a 94 super slam and a newer high end bow ?
  5. This is true but, bow technologie has come a long ways. Heck I went from a 98 magnatech low end bow with magnesium riser to a 04 protec (top of the line bow ) and did my scores improve nope , but my protec was a smoother , quieter and lighter bow.Even going from the protec to my 2014 factor ( top of the line bow ) they are like night and day on draw, shootability etc. but my scores did not change. Don’t get me wrong I am not saying not to shoot a high dollar bow, but guys should realize that there shooting may not improve a ton from doing so..
  6. I am going to kinda go against everything everyone else has said. Are higher end bows made with better materials yes, but in the end it’s usually not the bow but the Indian that determines how well one shoots. When my wife and I were shooting indoors (around 10 years ago ) there was a guy I worked with and he would pound X’s all night every time we shot. Bunch of the other shooters would get on him about if it weren’t for his newest Mathews that he wouldn’t be shooting as well as he did. Well he brought in a 94 Hoyt super slam and proceed to finish the rest of the indoor season with it and his scores never changed. Can a higher end bow help with improving ones shooting, sure. But if one is shooting and grouping well then why change..
  7. Boy If some one made a camera that you could have buck only setting, I bet they would sell like hot cakes ..
  8. Don’t suppose this would be at Williams is it? My wife’s Camry that we bought from them has been a very good car.My youngest is still driving his 99 camry that we bought used for him when he was a junior in high school..
  9. One thing you may want to try first is rotating your cable rod to the 3 o’clock position to see if this helps your tear. plus pay a lot of attention to your grip . can you attach a laser pointer to your stabilizer ? If so put the dot on the wall and draw your bow watching the dot to see if your inducing alot of torque in the riser.. Also what arrow rest are you using ? and can you get a 400 spine arrow to try ?
  10. Looking good, I hope you plan on posting some photos from the Maine trip..
  11. Bow make , poundage and draw length. arrow spine and brand of arrow please ..
  12. No blind but I remember it like it was yesterday. So when I was 19 or 20 , so it was around 1989-1990 it was the last weekend of regular firearms season and my dad had not gotten a deer yet.my brother and I talked my dad into going out. It was so cold I could walk on top of the frozen snow. So mind you I was no little kid, at that time I was easily 230-240. So my brother and I decide to put on a little drive in a 10 acre pine forest. Sure enough we kick out deer and my dad shoots , we get to my dad and he’s standing over the biggest doe I have ever seen . He's already field dressing it and I look at my brother he looks at me and were like ok we are done . So us boys are dragging this cow of a doe out and we stop and there’s my dads 12 gauge hull laying in the snow. I said to my dad did you shoot from here and he said yes , he easily makes a 125 yard shot with his Ithaca deerslayer. I remember it so vividly because it was so friggen cold that day and I can still see the smile on my dads face..
  13. Oct 1st archery opener , BUT the weather is a huge factor on when we hit the woods..
  14. Yep you get spoiled when the kid is gone, then they come home on breaks and your back to being June and Ward cleaver. We just did 4 years of the college thing, so this time is permanent..
  15. You sir have a total package, my wife still won’t field dress a deer. Kudos to the misses for getting right in there , that’s awesome..
  16. That first photo is priceless, love her little camo. two thumbs up to dad for raising a good kid..
  17. Pandering for votes, telling the crowd what they want up hear. Why Oh Why can’t we get a decent republican to get that commie out of office ..
  18. Bunch of us guys were talking at work and some wished their wife’s would hunt or at least shoot some. My wife loves to hunt, but not without some gentle persuasion from me. Growing up her family did no hunting and owned no guns , I don’t think they were anti gun just never felt a need to owne one. They did own a cottage on Waneta lake and my wife did fish . So I started her out with a target bow then talked her into bow hunting, then bought her a rifle then pistols. She loves it all now and try’s to get other woman into shooting, hunting .She has a very upscale job and she tells me stories of other professional woman that find out she shoots/ hunts and they want to know all about it and they think it’s great but they have no one to show them the ropes. So have you or anyone you know helped a female get involved in shooting /hunting? Any female members please tell us how you started...
