  1. Yep, between dirt bikes , atv’s , our farm all tractor and my dads old 69 and 70 international one tons I could since I was like 9. It has been some time since but it’s like riding a bike. You talking about the auto beer truck, when I wrenched at the bus garage the school buses were auto’s. Those automatic Allison transmissions were very strong stout units, very impressive.
  2. https://thefederalist.com/2020/12/16/6-first-gun-control-measures-to-expect-from-a-biden-administration/ The biggest hit will be banning online ammo and gun purchase’s . Second is banning 80% lower’s . For those that voted for him you’re getting what you voted for. After reading numerous threads on ammo shortage, it will now get way worse and price gouging will be rampant . And for the few members that have bought firearms on line , good thing you did now or you better get them soon..
  3. That does look small , cut around the middle and raise the roof up a few feet and make the window taller , Glue some carpet to the inside to quiet the plastic down . It was free so what do you have to loose .
  4. I’m actually looking forward to it, I had Falken wild peak tires put on my truck , so I want to see how well they actually do in the snow. Their supposed to be pretty good .
  5. I’ll be spending the better part of the day in a plow truck if we get what their calling for.
  6. Right there with you, my dad could free hand sharpen a knife with the best. Me nope, I bought a electric sharpener.
  7. My mom passed back in May and with covid backing everything up, we finally got the family together to go through my parents house. We came across my grand dads honing steel. I remember my grand dad using it so many times when he, my dad and my uncles would cut up deer to address the knife blades . It was passed to my dad and he / we used often ourselves . I hadn’t seen it in many years, so glad my mom kept it. I don’t know if you can see but it’s pretty much smooth now from being used so much. It’s hanging in my garage/ work shop now.
  8. Nice , I have a bunch of 270 grain deep curls for my 44 mag. So I have some harvester sabots in my midway cart for the 44’s waiting to be ordered . Cant wait to try/ shoot them in my new CVA I just ordered.
  9. Check out midway USA , I just bought a CVA optima V2 . They have others but limited stock. But do have some you can back order .
  10. Well why not make it more than a few, this way you can use up you’re older powder and have fun shooting the M/Z for a bit.
  11. So I got my birthday pricing email from midway and went in to look at some ML’s and after reading some posts about them from you all I ordered ( stainless barrel, scope mount. I got almost $50 off and I found a promo code for free shipping so saved $15 there too, very happy with the price . So those who have one, any quirks or any thing I need to know? Just so you guys know this isn’t my first MZ my dad and I hunted solely with MZ’s for several years in the 90’s,
  12. Holy, yep wellsville is a hike for you..
  13. If I would have known you could have borrowed my 6 by 12 trailer I use to haul my quads. Low deck and the sides fold down. Very nice shooting house, and yes inside photos please . I would say it’s a even trade the misses shooting house for your new browning ..
  14. My favorite was staying on stand over lunch time. A lot of the guys around my cousins old hunting camp would get the deer on there feet for me.
  15. Keep us posted, on it , sounds good..
  16. It ranks right up there in importance as Cuomo’s Emmy nomination ..
  17. Things sure have changed, I didn’t use my first stand till 92-93 and I hunted with a H@R single 12 smooth bore shooting Remington sluggers. No camo wore blue jeans, carhart coat with a orange vest and hat. And as you said saving bread bags to wear on your feet under your boots towards the end of summer for the up coming season was a necessity.
  18. eat and drink like a king .. enough said...
  19. As others have said used to be way more hunters, back 34 years ago when I started at 16 ( the legal age one could big game hunt ) I remember 10-15 guys at my uncles hunting camp opening day. My uncles owned 100 acres in the valley but we had permission to hunt the entire valley so maybe 1000 acres total . We sat in the morning and did drives in the afternoon . I remember this one day during opening week I think was 17or 18 at the time and after our 9 o’clock coffee break that we always took. I remember walking out the camp door and seeing a solid line of guys putting on a drive in this 100-150 acre field on a side hill 2 valleys over. There had to have been 30-40 guys in a line driving this golden rod field, who knows how many watchers they had. But I do remember hearing all the gun shots going off in the distance as we were walking to put on our own drive . One doesn’t see those things now a days or have the land access to do it.
  20. If he’s not breaking any laws, nothing you can do. It technically is his land now he married into it. As was said keep eyes peeled but mouth shut.
  21. As I tell others, there are way worse things one could be spending their money on. I say get what you want and don’t regret it. The misses has signed off on it, might as well get it . Cause we all know if momma ain’t happy nobody’s happy ..
  22. Welcome aboard, and yes you are 100% correct on the youth not being interested. Playing a video game is very stiff competition vs getting out and going hunting / fishing.
