How many more days until everyone gets back in the woods to hunt????..............jeeeez... -
I agree with that 100% Larry. And no one can argue with your success. But some days are definitely better than others. A magic day "could" happen on October 1st. On the very last day of the season, or any day in between. Thats why we hunt anytime we can!! Just seems to me, that the odds of having a "magic day" are higher between November 1st and 15th.

Before Treebark camo, we killed deer in jeans and flannels. Before that, Native Americans killed them in loincloths and buckskin! I have too many shortcomings to try a loincloth.......

From my own observations, the rut falls about the same time in November every year, and has nothing to do with the moon, as far as timing goes. I call November 10th the magic day, and five days on either side of that are prime too. Yes, there will be some rutting activity before and after those dates. But during the time between Nov 5th and 15th, is when the majority of doe's will come into estrous. I believe the amount of daylight triggers the rut each year. And of course weather, hunting pressure, buck\doe ratios, and many other factors, may vary the rut activity we see. But the rut is still going to happen at the same time, year after year.

I have bins full of assorted camo, going back as far as Treebark. I usually mix and match to blend in where I'm hunting, mostly from the ground. And depending on time of year. Love snow camo when snow is on the ground!

Common harmless garter snake. I see no reason to kill any snake. Though sometimes I do when I don't see them while mowing. They don't really bother me. But my wife will jump three feet high and scream like a banchee when she sees one......lol

An all around, wonderful, do anything shotgun, that will delight most any sportsman. Good luck with sale.

Awesome!! Love the smile on that kid! Great job on the mount!!

Again, this all falls on the managers shoulders to fix. If not fixed, the organization needs to find someone who can, and will fix all those fundamental problems. Making excuses, and pandering to professional players, being payed, very well to do their jobs, doesn't cut it. Especially when the organization has provided the best talent money can buy! Boone needs to go!
-
No, the Yankee's biggest problem is not talent. They have an abundance of that! The problem the Yankee's have is there is no spark or continuity in the clubhouse, or on the field. It is the manager's job to prepare, evaluate, and make the best decisions for his team to win. Boone has done nothing but make excuses, and pander to his players. What that team needs is a swift kick in the butt!!! Boone needs to go!

Happy Birthday Sir!!!

I agree with you. I'm from the school of wait for the one perfect shot, if you don't get it, don't take it. Not sure this crossbow would be legal in NYS?

"Now son, always trust your nose, and His eyesight, it will give you the edge!!! Great picture!!! -
I look forward to seeing him in pinstripes. He grew up a huge Yankee, and Derek Jeter fan. The right field porch in Yankee stadium, will be a target for his much needed lefty bat. A good trade in my opinion.

Still a bit early for hard antler at the end of July. But hey, anything's possible?? With all that has been going on in my life this year, I too am not really feeling the hunting bug yet. Also thinking of starting later this year. Waiting until mid to late October. Want to start trapping early this year, and honestly the early season is pretty slow around the farm the last few years. When I do go, it will be more for scouting than hunting. And from a distance, to not burn up our good spots until the big boys get on their feet more. But we will see...... going to put some cams out soon.
