  1. I know I have some 220s Bob. Let me check tomorrow to see if there are some 330s in that lot I picked up from CabinFever? If there is, I'll figure a way to get em out to ya. How many do you need? I just checked the list, 280 is the biggest we got.
  2. I know I got an ugly mug. But that bastid has me beat hands down! Glad you got your camera back Biz.
  3. Hunting partners daughter, and my god daughter, scores her first bow buck this morning! Seven point. She made a perfect double lung shot. Deer went about 60 yards. Was so pumped and happy for her when I got the text "buck down "!!! Had to skin and cut him up right away, but didn't take us long. I saw three doe and another small buck before coming out for the celebration. Im out now up near the big swamp, hoping to give her buck some company in the freezer! November 10th. The "Magic Day" indeed!
  4. Well yesterday saw nine deer! Hunted pretty much dark to dark, in two places. 8 of the deer were doe's and fawns. One was a small buck that got a pass until next year. Thing is, the doe's were just casually feeding along, with not one buck harassing them? The two year old buck was all by himself feeding on acorns! Anyways.....back at em again today. As today is Nov 10th!!!! What I call the "Magic Day"! Not sure how much magic I'll see out there today? But I'm going to try to pull a rabbit out of my hat, so to speak. Best of luck to all heading out today!
  5. I'm up and at em again! Cams showing a bunch of movement. Hope there is some by me! Guess I'll "cheat" and hunt from a tree this morning, up near the big swamp. Good luck to all heading out!
  6. Blink again, .......and your grandson is starting college.
  7. Another swing and a miss. No deer seen. Back out again in the morning. A hearty congratulations to all you guys that got it done today! Awesome!!!
  8. A life well lived. All the traits of a true gentleman, and outdoorsman. RIP Bill.
  9. Congratulations on a beautiful buck!!!!
  10. Hoping to change my luck by going to the thick , cooler hemlocks. First time for this blind. Lots of buck sign surrounding this woodlot, so lets see what happens?
  11. Congratulations to you and the Mrs!! Fine looking little hunter ya got there! Enjoy every second, as time passes so quickly.
  12. 100% fisher. Very cool critters.
  13. No excuses. I'm simply not setting up where the deer are when they move. We've played this game many times. Eventually I might get it right...lol Good luck with the recovery of that monster Don!
  14. Congratulations to all who got one down today! Some real beauties! Except for an hour and a half, I was in the woods dark to dark. In two WMUs 4H and 4J. Both excellent deer properties. Saw NOTHING! Pretty dismal year so far.
  15. Good luck to all heading out today! It's that time, when anything could happen, at anytime of day! Regardless of weather.
  16. Crossbow in the morning at the farm. 4H Bow in the afternoon for the first Pine Bush sit. 4J
  17. Awesome buddy! Hope to catch up with ya, at some point this weekend?
  18. Congratulations!! Beauty of a buck!!
  19. Way to go Matt!!! Nice buck my friend!!! Congratulations! Hilltowns buck?
  20. Since my hearing has gotten worse as I age, I rely on my eyes more now. Still have 20/20 vision. I've always been good at picking up movement in the woods. Just like a deer. A flick of a tail or ear is all I need most times, even from quite a distance away. Even the motionless deer, with the horizontal profile in the thick stuff, can tip me off sometimes.
  21. I like the idea of a heated blind!!! Along with bringing coffee and doughnuts!
  22. I gotta kill one first!!!! Then I'll figure out what to do next! One step at a time. No sense putting the cart before the horse!
  23. Welcome!!! Happy to have you join us! Congratulations on all you've accomplished up to this point. All that's left to do now, is to get your boots dirty, and get out there in the woods! You will learn something every time you go. Soon enough you'll be seeing deer. Along with so many other beautiful things that being in the field will expose to you. The more comfortable you become in the woods, the easier it will be to become a hunter. It's really not as daunting as you may think it is now. I hope you can find someone close to you, to just get you started. You already have the most important thing....the drive and desire to succeed! If you ever get up to the Albany area, hit me up! I'd be happy to take you out hunting. Best of luck sir, in all your future hunting endeavors.
