See if you can go sell the lease/rights to Carmax or Carvana, etc. That way you don't have to buy and then try to flip.

ESSAY: Unfollowing Hunting Social Media will make Hunting Better

Venison is also comparatively heart-friendly red meat. I know I used to donate a deer a year to a guy who could no longer eat red meat except for vension and other more exotic domesticated options that were expensive to buy based on doctor orders. -

I hope this also goes the right way but both replies give me the impression you look at it from a "me" POV only. The ability to bring in money to improve a family's quality of life - over a single deer? I'm sure at some point there is a balance, but I don't begrudge anyone of the few "lotto" winners who make money off of a deer they killed. I wouldn't prefer to advertise out a buck if I were that lucky, but at some point it becomes too greedy to not think about your family. Does $50K change lives? No, but place that in a 529, custodial retirement account, etc. and it becomes meaningful for a child. Or other various examples. Second, helping others isn't about the killing. If you've never understood why killing something that you don't personally need can still be "good," then you shouldn't be eating meat from the store. Because, someone killed it for you. We all hunt for different reasons, many of which we all struggle to articulate. That said, killing something to be used by others is as old as human existence. -
I get right at 14 MPG. 15 if I am lucky on a highway if it is covered in ice and with a tailwind pushing me, LOL. Still really enjoy the vehicle. I have an 19 Off-Road Premium with Fox 2.5s/UCAs and 285/70/17s Toyos. Rides like a dream on road, but the gas mileage took around a 1-2 mpg hit with it from the wheels. The tech is ancient, the mileage stinks, and the engine while strong is underpowered. All that said, it's comfortable to me, well built, and reliable and capable on and off road. They make great mall crawlers too for the moms/wives.

There are good and bad things about every state. The states with the most amount of imports from NY are...in order... NJ, FL, PA, CA, CT, NC, TX, MA, VA, GA. That fooled me, but probably numbers driven by NYC-related moves (neighboring states where commuting is possible). I'd imagine alot of the mid-Atlantic and SE states draw the most from a hunting crowd. NC, TN, SC, FL, GA, VA. Wife and I seem to be talking about it more and more as each year goes by. She is becoming more open to considering places like MT and we are likely going to visit there this summer.

I'll hold out for a Pro but trying to not even get to that point. My 19 4Runner is free and clear and with all of the work done on it, it's probably not the best financial decision to move into a Pro. Honestly the thing that makes me want to switch the most is gas mileage. The truck will likely get real-world 5-10 MPG better than the 4Runner, and can be used as a truck lol. The 4Runner will go a few hundred thousand miles and it's a tank off-road, but I cringe at what that gas cost may be in 2, 3, 4 years.

Depends on the model. Some Yes, some no. And the yes crowd...have different degrees to which sharing is easy or a complete PITA that isn't worth it.

Yeah but that isn't a thing unique to hunting. Look at other product spaces. Cars for example. Drivers holding trophies, or actors acting cool with their cars. A broken down car on the side of the road isn't selling them to people. -

The problem is people want to apply inherently good or inherently bad monikers to a whole - or in this case all of hunting. There is good and bad with nearly everything in hunting, work, family, life, etc. But, what there almost always is, is room to make money in the middle. Selling shovels to miners. -

Don't fall for the business model. Look at WWE, the Kardashians, etc. for the model. Drama, stir and shake, and profit. Rinella's sell their soul to the highest bidder. Their Christmas dinners were no drama. Just counting the dollars. And, yes they do hunt not just private, but highly managed private. One non-hunting NYC writer wrote a piece about his experience hunting with Steve on a private farm...it kind of gives you a POV of the real person who isn't in front of the camera. I don't remember which publication it was in, but it was not a hunting one. -

Definitely not a normal year; will be nice to get out a few times more and move into shed season. Probably have 5-6 more sits between NY and Ohio. I've had my chances in both states but they've all added up to no shots taken, just out of range or by stupid sheer luck of not having a clear shot. That probably is the most frustrating part of it, lol. So close, but yet so far. -

We have planted them before pretty heavily and we're seeing under-utilization like never before. That's across a few different properties miles apart. It's a weird year. We don't rely on the plots but often late season you can find one or two situations where you can make a move. This season - not a single move so far to be had. Between cams, scouting, and stand observations, there isn't a four year old in the mix. A pair of three year olds that we'd prefer make it to next year - both 110-120. A buck we counted on being around this time is MIA; we have his shed from last season and he was a homebody for the late season on our ground. He disappeared after velvet and I have to assume someone cleaned his clock. Shame because we passed him due to a broken g2 last three days of MZ last year. He was a bully buck and was at least 5.5 this year. -

I may have a small window to get out for the last hour of light tomorrow. But planning to hunt Friday and Saturday in all likelihood. Dry Friday but light, steady rain on Saturday might make things more difficult. Thinking about throwing a blind up in prep for Saturday to encourage me to sit in a spot that might give me more action than where our hardsides are. Bucks are hitting brassica plots this week now. Almost non existent previously. All at night however. These temps just are not forcing the feed bag. -
I hope you all have speedy recovery. This variant seems to spread/breakthrough alot more easily.
-
The only way I could see that is that it was enough force to work through, but not seat the sabot? Still that just seems so weird.

I have two half shed bucks on cam in Ohio. They have a MZ season Jan 8...and bow through to Feb. It is pretty weird. -
209M is a magnum primer. CCI is most common brand.
-
Moisture probably the culprit but wow, I can't say I have every heard of the primer with a powder/sabot/projectile properly fed like that with the end result. That just seems weird to me. Did anything move forward when you checked the line? I have 209M primers and have always used them but a regular, non MZ 209 should be fine in a CVA with the BH209 breech. I leave mine in my garage or truck (yeah, I know) for the most part.

The answer is full is too long to type out. Longer than this reply. Essentially, the founder of that company sold it and the patents. Now he and his son run another company called Lone Wolf Custom Gear. The writing on the wall for Lone Wolf (the company that was sold) was clear because patents expired and the re-engagement of the founder into the business field pretty much forced a fate. I suggest you read carefully at who you support in the cast stand section if you are buying one. It's a hot mess IMO. There are several manufacturers, like LWCG, Novix, Hunting Beast/Infalt, and others. The drama is probably second to treestand diapers/saddle hunting companies, ha.
-
Plus BH209 likes larger diameter breech plugs too. 209M FTW....
-
Admittedly I have done the key fob probably 4-5 times. Toyota. Still works.
-
The Pro has to have marker lights since it is so wide. It's not small by any stretch. Toyota may not be the leader in tech and edgy design but they seem to have a good grip on reliability and complete design (meaning thought out). Some people like it and some don't. That's why there are brands for everyone, lol.
