  1. The problem is all the career politicians are trying to take him out with all their finger pointing and security leaks and other BS. He is fighting a up hill battle and it isn't going to be easy. The ONLY news outlet having anything positive to say is FOX. CNN, NBC, CBS and the rest are doing nothing but nitpicking and looking for stories that will make him look incompetent and corrupt making his job 10 times harder than it should be. He can't even get a cabinet appointed because of the whinebags is Washington fighting every step of the way. I like what he has done to this point (with some minor exceptions) and sure hope he catches a break soon. Had to get me going didn't ya Grampy!!
  2. Looks like a real smart idea with a propane tank laying next to it.
  3. Distance to target in yards) / (100) = inches per MOA at that distance (Number of inches of adjustment needed) / (inches per MOA at that distance) = MOA adjustment (Number of clicks per 1 MOA on scope) x (MOA adjustment) = adjustment in clicks on scope Note, if you insist on using 1.047" per 100 yards instead of 1" per 100 yards, you must multiply the (inches per MOA at that distance) by 1.047. EXAMPLES Problem Answer If 1 MOA is 1" at 100 yards, how many MOA is 2" at 200 yards? It is still just 1 MOA. Remember, a MOA is an angular measurement that gets bigger with distance. 1" at 100 yards and 12" at 1200 yards are both 1 MOA. If your bullets are impacting 16" to the left at 800 yards, and ignoring any wind effect for now, how many MOA do you need to adjust and in which direction? 2 MOA to the right. Remember, the first step is to think in 1 MOA increments at whatever distance you are shooting. Since 1 MOA at 800 yards is 8", you should think in 8" increments for this problem. The next step is to think about how many increments of 1 MOA fit into the distance you want to adjust. Two 8" increments fit into the 16" we want to adjust, so we are going to adjust 2 MOA. Since the bullets are impacting to the left, we want to adjust them to the right. At 50 yards, how far will a 10 MOA adjustment move the impact of the bullet in inches? 5 inches. If 1 MOA at 100 yards is 1", then at half the distance, 1 MOA is half as big and is 1/2". Likewise, 1 MOA at 25 yards is 1/4". So, if you think in 1/2" increments, and add up 10 of those 1/2" increments, you come up with 5 inches. If you scope adjusts in 1/4 MOA (it may say 1/4" per 100 yards on scope), how many clicks are needed on the scope to adjust 10" at 200 yards? 20 clicks. 1 MOA increment at 200 yards is 2". 5 of those 2" increments fit into the 10" of adjustment needed, so a 5 MOA adjustment is needed. 4 clicks on the scope equal 1 MOA. So, if every 4 clicks equals 1 MOA, you will need 5 of those 4 click adjustments, or 20 clicks total. I personally don't worry about it. I bore sight, get on the paper, and keep adjusting until I am where I want to be. After that I shoot different yardages so I know where it is shooting and leave it at that. Seems like everything has to be a science these days. It is probably very important to a Sniper but for everyday shooting and the distances available for most of NY...old Kentucky windage still works.
  4. I agree with wooly...anybody look under the tire track??
  5. Losing a good dog is one of the hardest things to experience and you never forget them.
  6. My kids always had chores growing up and they hated every minute of it. But now guess what...their kids have chores to. I would imagine it would be pretty hard to shovel with a cell phone in one hand.
  7. Try these guys...they be able to help or give some ideas. http://www.usafoxx.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59_97
  8. I have commented on this already but one thing I think we are forgetting is we need to DRAIN THE SWAMP here in NY before we see any sign of favorable gun regulation reform. With people like Schumer, Gillibrand, Cumo, etc. still in place it will continue to be a hard fought battle for those attempting to change the law. Gun owners had enough clout in the last election to oust Cumo and simply did not turn out to vote. Since we don't have term limits we are looking at another four years of Cumo until he makes his presidential bid in 2020. How can we ask others to support our interests when we don't support ourselves. (and before you ask...I voted and signed the petition)
  9. True Story: When I was in my twenties two of my friends and I took a backpacking/trout fishing trip near Rosco NY to fish the beaverkill river. We loaded up the back packs for three days & each one of us carried two six packs in addition to our tents, food, sleeping bags etc. Since the Cherry Wood State Forest was on the edge of the Beaverkill we decided to camp there and fish our way toward Rosco. We parked the car loaded up and went on our way. The guy that had all the info & topo maps led us out into the woods and we ended up walking about 2 1/2 hrs. till we found a nice level spot near a stream to set up camp. Dropped the back packs, got the tents set up, had a beer, and began to gather firewood since it was pretty cold out. Suddenly just on the other side of the stream a car drives by. So I say to the "guide" what the (I won't say what). I got the topo map from him, took a compass reading, and as near as I could tell we were about 100 yards from the road the car was parked on. You have got to be kidding me!!! I walked down the hill, crossed the stream, and walked to the car in twenty minutes. Got the car, drove it up, and parked parallel to the campsite so we wouldn't have as far to walk. We decided to stay there because it was a nice spot, it was getting dark, and we knew we were going to be doing a lot of walking the next few days fishing. Turned out to be a nice trip and we still laugh about it to this day but I still don't trust him to be able to read a map and navigate.
  10. Hunting NY member .....Haven't heard from him in a while but this guy does it up right and very enjoyable to hear his stories.
  11. Here's your sign Something like this one A wife asks her husband, "Could you please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk and, if they have avocados, get 6. A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk. The wife asks him, "Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?" He replied, "They had avocados."
  12. Doubt it will fly but signed it anyway. I don't see how they could pass a bill that would apply to only part of the state but hey...anything would be better than what we have now!!
  13. Beautiful Shot....can almost hear coyotes howling in the distance.
  14. Good riddance...Now what Geno Smith Smith is a free agent so hopefully they will dump him to. Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg are really green. Looks like it will still be a long wait for them to be anything. (Something like the Bills)

  16. Probably won't be able to buy ANY gun parts when him and Andrew C get done: Sen. Chuck Schumer, D.-N.Y., is trying to pass legislation that would ban people from buying untraceable "ghost gun" kits that allow people to make firearms without serial numbers. 17. Exactly A question... any question is seldom answered without checking the phone. When they find the answer on the phone they shout it out like they are the smartest person in the world. No need to retain anything or learn anything because it is all in the palm of their hand.
  18. Best Advice yet...If you shoot them you have a obligation to get them.
