I would have left the phone but not the harness. You did the right thing!

I was thinking the same thing all morning. Probably the nicest morning of the season. Still no deer though
-
Loop it around the tree and slide it up as you go. Do the same thing coming down. You could leave it in the tree if you climb the same one each time but I usually take it out each time since I may not be in the same tree next time. Mine is longer than the one in the video and is long enough to reach the ground. The video gives a idea how to use it.

Stupid Me Question Answered Thanks!!!!!!

A lot of us don't but it is definitely a good idea to stay attached at all times. One fall can ruin your life or end it.

Disappeared from the bottom right hand side of my post(s). Any suggestions or input?

If I don't use a life line I use one of these. Foolish not to use anything:

I made a couple up this year for under $25.00 and used them for the first time. Left one in one of the ladder stands and used one with the climber. Best thing since peanut butter IMO. Fast Eddie posted a video a while back on how to make them and there are number of videos on youtube. Main thing is you buy a rope that will support your weight. Most packaged rope will have the rated weight capacity on the package. I will probably make up a couple more in the off season.

Always Always Always practice with the equipment you plan on hunting with. Your target tips should be the same weight as your broadheads. If fletching of a different type is used after you are sighted in there is a good chance it will effect accuracy. The key to successful shooting is practice, practice, practice with the equipment you plan on hunting with. Lots of practice will also condition you to automatically draw and anchor the same place each time. It could be the equipment, your anchor point. sight is not tight, peep site turning (f you use one) or you are misjudging distances. Once you are sighted in you should try to shoot from a elevated position to see how you do and adjust from there. Being that you are fairly new to bow hunting practicing once or twice a week to verify would not be a bad idea. I personally carry two target arrows with me and take a shot every once in awhile to verify 1) distance & 2) I am still accurate. Something like a odd colored leaf, dead stump, etc. Sounds like you need to check your equipment and shoot some more to improve your accuracy. If you keep flinging arrows like you are it is only going to be a matter of time before you make a bad hit that you will regret taking. Just my .02 cents.

Where have you been in a Ivory Tower? . It has already been a rough ride for many American's without much hope of recovery . At least now they have the opportunity to feel positive about something. Who knows what the future will bring but at least give the possibility of change for the better a chance. OR You can take the bus to Canada with the rest. -

Of course she shows up 2 hrs later than scheduled. Should have DVR'd it. Obvious she wasn't prepared to lose and acknowledge it last night. Didn't even show up to her own supporter rally last night and left them hanging. Obama scheduled for 12:15 will dvr that one and watch it when I need to go to sleep. -
Scheduled for 9:30 am....Sure it will be on all the major networks!

Wind & rain this morning so didn't hunt. Still a little dark at 6:45, look out the patio doors and there is a 4-6 point and doe 150 yards from the house. He is sticking close to her and tries to mount her a couple of times but she won't stand. Five minutes later here comes another buck & doe. This one is wider than his ears, not to high, but wide & thick, to dark to count points but he is at least an 8 or 10. At one point they were less than 10 yds. from each other and no aggression. Both seemed more interested in keeping "their" doe close. All four just kind of browsed for about 1/2 hr. then wandered into the woods. Non of them ever got close to one of my stands. Fun to watch warm & dry but sure wish I could see them from a stand! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THAT HAVE SCORED!!! -
The American people have finally been heard. Trump has a hard road ahead of him that is for sure.

Things seemed to have dried up here in 8h (at least here). Have hunted pretty hard the last few days and have not seen a deer since 11/3. Visible scrapes from last week have not been touched and are covered up in leaves. Can only find one that is getting hit on a regular basis. Trail cams indicate they are still moving at night between 10:00pm & 2:00 am & 4:00 & 6:00 am. Sat for 2/12 hrs. this morning, came out & voted and back in this afternoon figuring they might be moving with the rain & front coming in. Slowest rut activity I have ever seen -

I am not a mechanic but I have seen it where the fan pulley bearing goes bad or the bolts holding the assembly loosen or break and cause the entire fan pulley to wobble causing the belt to come off or break. -

I have a tree stand 325 yards from my house. Have set in it four or five times and not seen a thing. 25 mph winds, rain, & fog. Look out across the field and see a doe and a big bodied four point @ 8:45. The four point walks to within 15-20 yards of my tree stand. They didn't stay out long before ducking back into the cedars. I thought they might be moving this afternoon but as usual....in the wrong place at the wrong time!!
