I've got many rifles. My go-to is a Sako 75 in 30.06. My favorite is a Dakota Model 10 chambered in "The Bob". My bruiser is a Ruger #1 in .300 H&H Mag. My long distance is a Dakota Model 97 in 7MM Dakota. My inclement weather rifle is a Ruger 77 Compact in .308. Depends on my mood I guess.

Not sure why you think it's not drivable but... How about W VA?

Bino recommendations under $1500 or so

Vortex Razor HD's are very nice. Also, check out the Meoptas. You may also wish to go over to the S.W.F.A. site and check their SampleList merchandise for some good deals. -
Sounds interesting... and doable. I'd also think KY might be a great destination.

Always store on hooks in my "hunting" room. Full time AC is a must here.

I've never had much luck with the Thermacell and gnat repellency. The high % DEET sprays seem to help a bit. They are very annoying to be sure.

Really??? I've never heard that before. I'll keep shooting until I see wear (fraying, strand breakage, etc.) then I'll replace them. I'm well over that threshold now and my strings still look great.

new to trail cams... have some questions
bugsNbows replied to bugsNbows's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
Thanks all. I don't even own a laptop... maybe the iPad will be ok. Think I will mess around with it to sort it out. -
To be a bit more specific... these are likely Indian Meal Moths or Mediterranean Flower Moths. Their entire life cycle usually takes 8-10 weeks and they usually have 5-6 generations per year. While the adult females lay the eggs (pretty much non-controllable) the resulting larvae (quite controllable) crawl about and infest many different foodstuffs. It is very possible (actually quite normal) to bring goods home from the store already infested. Once the larvae change into pupae they again become hard to kill. Sanitation is paramount and you need to go through your pantry and thoroughly inspect all goods. Throw out infested stuff!!! Crack and crevice insecticidal applications can help as can aerosol fogs and even traps. Follow label guidelines on all products.

So, I just picked up a Bushnell Essential E2 camera. I'm trying to figure out the best / easiest way to view pics while at my cabin in the woods... won't have a computer or laptop there. My son-in-law gave me an SDHC micro card with adapter that would apparently fit into my wife's digital camera. Is that ok to use? The second option would be to take an iPad with SD adapter and view the pics on it. Wouldn't that be a better option? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Tis over... Stenson won... he was hotter than a firecracker. Shot a 63 final round to lefty's 65. Was a battle to the end.

Finally pulled the trigger on a "pocket" gun

I have and carry (often) a Ruger SP101. It is a tank and .357 mag will do the trick... I assume. -
I have a LNIB Nightforce ATACR 4-16 X 42 F1 first focal plane scope for sale. This has a 34 mm main tube with mil / mil turrets and a Mil R reticle. This scope has an astonishing 26 mils of internal elevation and 18 mils of windage. It has red / green illumination with the PTL and zero hold. Included are a set of 34mm Seekins Precision low rings. The "new" price for this set-up is $2470.00. I will sell for $1950.00. This is a long range instrument... I'm only selling because I lost my only long range shooting area, as it has been sold. No practice does not go well with long range precision work.

Welcome... I'm new here also!

Good grief. I bet the white won't be white for long!!! LOL.

Most "packages" I've seen on hunting stuff aren't that great... IMO.
-
I did not pay a grand for it... but it wasn't cheap either. I get what I want... even if I have to save up a long time. If it turns out to be not what I wanted (or thought it would be) I sell it and try something different. That's been my mode of operation for many years. To each his own my friend.

Review: The World's Fastest Crossbow

Scorpyd's are nice. If ya got the cash and desire, go for it. -
Lucky for him... I guess.

Dad ought to be happy with that! I know I would. Congrats and well done Sir!

I've been looking for something a bit different than run of the mill stuff. It had to be EASY to hang as I'm about done with fighting (while up a tree) stubborn stands. I stumbled across one and ended up purchasing it for a trial. It's from Advanced Treestands and comes as three pieces... a stem hangs to the tree, then the platform attaches, then the seat. It's an engineering marvel to be sure. Very well thought out. Likes are: easy to hang, stackable and packable, very secure, cast aluminum platform (which I like), good camo, less likely to get stolen based on internal ratchet system and the fact that you can remove the seat and/or platform and take them out with you if you so desire, you can purchase additional stems for other trees, two strap security, comfortable, and all my pre-purchase questions were handled well. I took the plunge. Dislikes: made in China, a bit pricey Perhaps some other folks on here may wish to investigate this new stand. I only posted this as info... I'm in no way affiliated with this company.

If a person has the cash and desire, how about a Reconyx HC600 (no video tho, pics only)?
