My SOB moment. During small game season, I drove all the way to where I was going to hunt, which is an hour drive. Couldn't find my hunting license which I normally keep pinned to my backpack. Drove all the way home and search the house. Couldn't find it. Then realized the last time I went hunting, I didn't bring a backpack so the hunting license was in my gun case which I had bought with me all along.

LIVE from the woods 2016 Edition! - 7th Year, lets make this happen...

Forkie chasing a young doe 30 yards from me. Would have felt bad breaking up a teenage love affair. Buck too focused on tail to pay me any mind. The doe eventually realized some one was watching and ended the party. Both ran off to do their hanky panky somewhere a little more private. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
But lets be honest, wooly. You're a peeping Tom. You're really using your bino's to look at your neighbor's wife and since you saw your neighbor pass you by, you know he isn't home.

Sometimes I feel if I don't hike deep enough than it simply wasn't enough of an adventure for me. I didn't "escape" enough.

The food I had in smaller towns and in some places in Venice were amazing. The food in or near major attractions were not as good. I was told that a lot of those in tourist traps don't put much effort in it because they know you won't be back anyway. All the recommendations I got were in places where locals lived. That would put you near or in the Dolomites? Saw it from a distance and from the plane. Looks like a great place to visit.

My son is now at the age where he wants to run every where, climb things, and cry when he doesn't get his way...which isn't good when you add in crowds of tourist in a museum with 1000 year old artifacts. If you haven't figured, he's the crazy kid running in the flood water. I really wish I would had more time/freedom to change filters or carry a tripod, etc. Often I had only a split second to adjust settings.

Italy 2016. Flew into Milan, picked up rental car and drove down to Cinque Terre. Spent the night in Monterosso al Mare. Visited Vernazza the next morning then drove down to Rome with a pit stop in Pisa. 3 days in Rome including a tour of the Vatican City. Drove from Rome to San Marino but it was raining hard so we skipped San Marino and pulled into Rimini for the night. Drove to Venice next and spent two days there. Second day it rained and Venice flooded which is a normal occurrence. Drove back to Milan for the night and flew out the next afternoon. https://elmo43.smugmug.com/Travel/Italy-2016/

My first time trying it and it'll be my last. Not a fan. Sort of bland with a strange after-taste. Also saw this in the supermarket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Being that I only hunt public land, I don't use any cams and I don't know of any apps that would help so all my deer on from putting boots on the ground, listening to word of mouth, and interacting on this forum. The first 3 years, I would look at a map of public lands and then hike all over it. Now, I don't have as much time to put in that type of dedication but fortunately I have amassed enough "spots" from those first 3 years that now I simply scout those spots before the season and decide which one will be my plan A, plan, B, plan C, etc.

Congratulations on the recovery!

On the inside there's a feeling of sadness, joy, and a feeling of accomplishment. On the outside, it just looks like I'm staring down at the deer lost in thought.
