  1. Problem is they never fail anyone in the exam at the end of the hunter's safety course which is not really a good thing. Maybe they should make the test harder and fail people if they don't qualify.
  2. There some serious dedicated hunters down here. Putting up with what we do where some might have found the obstacles insurmountable.
  3. I would also imagine such a shot would spray poo-poo all over the insides. Makes gutting pretty crappy...literally...and ruin the tenderloins.
  4. That wasn't there when I went but I haven't been to Del Frisco in a very long time.
  5. Maybe God or the Devil is testing you? Maybe the right decision was not to shot and ya' done messed up? Argument can go both ways.
  6. The body of the 3rd death was found near Ellenburg at the very top northwest corner of NYS near the Canada/Vermont boarder. I don't think they know the cause of death yet.
  7. Yet, all 3 hunting related deaths this year so far has all occurred in the Northern Zone with Sandy Creek (where the son thought his father was a deer) being the closest to NYC at 291 miles. Being tired in the woods has nothing to do with the law. Laws don't prevent stupid.
  8. I've bumped deer and had them run 50-75 yards, then stop and turn around to look at what bumped them, giving me a clear shot.
  9. You can't edit a post after a certain amount of time has passed.
  10. I use the same exact formula and rifle. Just haven't ranged it out pass 100 yards. I have the Simmons fixed 4X on it. Took my first deer with it.
  11. You can just pretend you're very well endowed.
  12. I've also heard "deer" in the bush only to have a squirrel jump out so many time. Never shot into one of these bushes at all.

Not a bad choice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I would have shot it. I hunt with people who have enough ethics to understand and burn one of their tags for such a situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I don't know if a person can "look like a deer for a split second" but I would never shoot at a deer in a split second anyway. I don't know how some people hunt but every game animal except for upland birds, I'll have the crosshairs one them for some time controlling my breathing before I even pull the trigger and that's not even counting the minutes of watching the animal come into view before even putting the cross hairs on it.
  16. Same here. Several times, I've considered a premise carry with hunting privileges but do I really want to spend several hundred dollars every few years just to have a side arm while carrying a rifle while hunting?

  19. I'm surprised you didn't fully notice it. A fully engorged tick sticks out like third nipple.
  20. That deer heart came out looking awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. You're a strong dude. Man up! Just kidding. Yeah, the more experience I gained, the more I shave off of my pack. Also helps when hunt with other people then you don't have to carry duplicates.
