  1. I doubt this whole "security guard" label. I'm not a church goer but have accompanied many of friends who have on several occasions. I haven't been to any that had a hired protection on presence during a service. The person that saved the day was an average "good guy with a gun". Even if he was a security guard by trade, I highly doubt he was paid to be there to protect the service. I have a feeling this push for a "security guard" label is more of liberal push to argue for allowing only authorities to have guns.
  2. Nice Crappy. What's that like 3 or 4 deer for you this season?
  3. Had a friend who's dog also swallowed a rawhide and it lodged in it's throat and ripped it. Had surgery. Close to $10K because she didn't have insurance.
  4. Sorry to hear. My condolences.
  5. Was going to go for one last chance at deer but this guy wanted to tag along for his first hunt for I switch up to squirrels. His constant chatter scared everything away but I take it as an investment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Awesome story. My mom has a few recipes of her own and each year, I keep saying we should learn it otherwise they'll go with her but always forget to. Also what's with the gratuitous Echo Dot promo?
  7. There are two separate squirrel seasons. First one when there are leaves on the trees and the second one when the leaves are on the ground. When the leaves and acorns are still on the tree, the squirrels will be up there almost exclusively running from branch to branch. Here, while you might be able to still get them with a 22LR, a shotgun with bird shot is your best bet. They're a little more bold during this time and feel the leaves gives them cover. But as much as the leaves cover them, they also cover you. Once are the leaves and acorns have fallen, they'll come to the ground more. They're much more cautious during this time and spots you from a distance. During this time, a 22LR is your better bet. You can also use a high quality air rifle too. In Westchester and other shotgun only areas, an airgun will gain you access to shotgun only areas too.
  8. I also agree. Even if you don't shoot it, at the very least, hold it in your hands. I chose my bow based on how if feels holding it.
  9. Most here would love to stick their hands into a couple of warm beavers.
  10. That was back in 2017. Just did a Zillow search with 5000 sq ft minimum requirement for Omaha, NE. Slightly undervalue but not by much. Found several in the $800K range but looked much newer.
  11. Just looking at the sheets of ice on the board tells me it's a slip and fall waiting to happen. More power to you. I'm sure you know what you're doing but I wouldn't get on that thing.

  13. 3S still open for deer till 12/31. Might is if I can get out there 12/24 for a little. Squirrels and predators run into Feb and beyond.
  14. Read some where that possums are big time tick eaters and are immune to tick born diseases which is why it's beneficial to have them around.
  15. We missed you Eddie! Welcome back.
