  1. Lots of good advice here already Just be patient you will sit and not see deer more times than you will see deer. Bow season when deer are suppose to be everywhere I went 8 straight sits without seeing a deer. It can and will get frustrating and it will be a battle of mental toughness. It's easy to throw in the towel and quit it's much harder to stick with it but let me say its very rewarding and you will forget all those sits of not seeing anything. I like to joke around when people ask me if I am going out hunting. I will sometimes reply nope just gonna take my gun/bow for a walk in the woods because the reality is that's pretty much what will happen. I will go for a walk in the woods with my gun/bow and not see a thing.
  2. No no no no HELL no! My back and neck hurt just looking at that picture! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Woah, Woah, Woah. Carry out whole. Like draped over your shoulders? While hiking in the mountains? I feel like less of a man now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. See any state troopers, black helicopters or a certain 17 year old white male?
  5. Any worthy of taking a shot at? or did you pass to let them grow another year? lol
  6. What do you know Wooly made another amazing wood carving.... yawn Just kidding man, as I was looking through the pictures I was like yeah that's looking OK, hmmmm yep he seems to have this idea down, oh wow yeah that looks good, damn it that's a spot on Rottie Great job I am sure your customer is as excited about it as you are if not more!
  7. Good luck in the morning Cynthia and Bill. I agree with others based on the information given that doe will not be far from where you last saw her. That’s a dead deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Good luck Cynthia! And good on you Bill for jumping in right away and lending a helping hand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Shoot me a PM or text with the contact info. I want to have my bow buck done just because. I was going to do it myself but for $60 to have someone else do it seems worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. My bow knowledge is very limited so I may be completely wrong so lets just say that its only my opinion. 4 years ago when I decided to start bow hunting I really had no interest in dropping $1,000+ on a new bow but I wanted new and not used. I went to a shop that is trusted by a lot of people I know and I walked out with the Hoyt Ignite bow completely set up for hunting for $450. Unfortunately they no longer make that bow but it sounds very similar to the Klash bow you mentioned specification wise. I am 5'-11" with a draw length of 28" and the Ignite is adjustable to 30" where the Klash is only 29". The beginners Ignite bow honestly shoots very good groupings out to 40 yards which is as far as I have taken it. I would bet in a more capable persons hands it would do even better. I guess what I am trying to say is i'd imagine that the Klash youth bow would be a bow that your son could use for many many years as long as he does not physically out grow the draw length.
  11. Right! Pretty dang obvious if dudes got a set of meat clackers or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I’m thinking the same thing man. I must be slow. 1.5-2 just to skin and quarter up. Then another 3.5-4 hours to cut, grind, package and clean up. I tell everyone it takes 6 hours but I always break it up in 2-3 different days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Seem's like a strange move for them. I wonder what their reasoning is.
  14. Our club actually seems to be down a bit in total deer take through the first weekend of the regular season. It does however seem like the quality of bucks is much much better than it ever has been.
  15. Driving as in driving the vehicle to their spot so they can hunt? Because obviously driving deer would be assisting and not legal. Other wise you can hunt small game all you want as long as you are not some how helping them.
  16. I love reading the stories of their first hunts and experiences. Always brings me back to the beginning of when I started to hunt and even some of their thoughts still ring true today 22 years later. Like “suffering in silence” and “I have to get this heart pounding under control”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Keep it in mind for the next one. Everything would leave in a vacuum sealed package with a label. I’m not a professional by any means but I get the job done with the basic steaks, filets, roast and ground. This picture is of the salmon and trout from the spring but it gives you an idea of the packaging. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Bring it over to my garage! We will wrangle a few guys together drink some beers and process the whole damn thing in a night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Pretty sure I’ve made that same face a few times after a few to many genny cream ales the night before Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Lots of reasons why definitely way to many to list. It’s something I like doing and there’s no explaining well enough to people that don’t hunt and don’t enjoy the outdoors. In fact it’s more than even just that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Congratulations Dave! The mass on that guy all around is awesome. 170 yards sounds like your new spot and a record distance for you. I sure hope that’s the case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Phew. I was getting worried about @Grampy glad to hear it’s down and he’s sending pictures. Like everyone else I’ve been constantly checking this thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
