  1. This is my first ever late season. I don’t expect much but would like to plug a doe. I’ve been really thinking on where to sit to maximize my chances but feel it’s all really just a crapshoot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Why are the….. you know what never mind. I can’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Great ending to this story as it sounds like not only was the guy smart enough to wear a harness but he also seemed to have thought about what happens if he falls. My suspension strap is attached to the harness in such a way that I will always be able to get to it in case of a fall and my cell phone is always in the top pocket of my shirt because I know if I do fall getting into my pants pocket is going to be really hard. In my head the first step after a fall is getting the suspension strap set and in use then grab the phone to make the rescue call. Good thing is I'm generally never hunting alone and the sound of me falling and pooping my pants will probably be enough for someone to come rescue me.
  4. I want my 2 points! Think @robhuntandfish will give me one point in pity? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. That sounds like a trap!!!!!!!!!!
  6. SOB I didn’t know I was a pimp in a New Orleans whorehouse. The wife is NOT going to be happy about this. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Desktop no problem but through Tapatalk I can only send out a new one and view the reply once by tapping the notification. Once that notification is gone I can't view anything again except on the desk top. I suspect it's a Tapatalk issue not a site issue.
  8. I have Lodge brand cast iron. A skillet and a pizza pan. No idea where they fall for quality/price as I got them for Christmas a few years ago but I can say I use the skillet for most meals and there is not a single complaint I can think of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Personally I would probably clean up the trash, break it down and leave it there in case the guy comes back at the end of the season or later. Who knows what happened and maybe he just could not come back out like he planned.
  10. Oh Rochester you never seem to disappoint
  11. As always thanks for sharing your adventures. You are teaching a lot of people what and what not to do while tracking a shot deer. Just this year alone we recovered a doe that if not for following your teachings I don't think we would have ever recovered as we would have chased her for miles upon miles. Long story short she was shot in the morning. Tracking began 2 hours later with good blood. 400 yards later we bumped her out of her bed. I immediately suggested backing out and marking last blood at her bed. We went back in 12 hours after the shot and found her only 50 yards away from her first bed still alive but no energy to get up and move. Ends up she was shot in the rear leg and was bleeding pretty decently. Sucks that she had to suffer from a bad shot but she was recovered and didn't go to waste.
  12. It can be a lot of fun and a lot of ball busting. Honestly though I do it with the same group of guys every year and during the drive it’s all business. Constant communication from start to finish and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Not once in 25 years of doing it have I ever felt unsafe. I do feel the same way about the big buck and from memory today was the only time a big buck was taken during a drive. I know one year I missed a dandy 8 point at 20 yards and he was only walking. Another year we had another big 8 on the move but he squeezed back through the pusher without anyone getting shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Man y’all know something I don’t know? Putting a lot of faith in a guy that’s about to embark on his first muzzle loading season Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Power came back on 24 hours later. The kids survived with no internet during that all so all was good. Telling y’all especially those of you with kids a $7,000-$8,000 investment for a while home generator is well worth the money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Last pick will be the real tcIII Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You’re freeking crazy. I would have noped out of that ASAP. the nut jobs I hunt with stayed in the woods with trees snapping everywhere. It took trees falling close to them to get them out of the woods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Heck yeah Duke!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The tree damage inside the woods is insane. We are going to be cleaning up for YEARS from this storm. Thankfully we only spotted one tree stand the was ripped down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Unfortunately I don’t. I took a bunch for the guy on his phone but none with mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Just got home. What a fun day of drives. We only Moved one deer on the first one. The second one we had deer moving the moment we stepped into the woods. In the end a monster 8 point with a 24” spread , a small 6 point, 2 small doe and one large doe where taken. Unfortunately for the people that picked me this week I did not shoot any of them. I covered 6.5 miles over all sorts of terrain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Deer drive day so I got to sleep in. I’ll be leaving the house in a bit to make my way to camp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Still out here at the house. Generator still just humming away. I made sure to clear it with my wife that leaving for hunting is ok which of course she doesn’t mind at all. Probably a bonus of having an automatic generator she doesn’t have to worry about anything when the power comes back on the generator shuts itself off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. We lost power around 3pm and it’s still out. Longest we have ever lost power in this house in the 8 years we have been here. Good thing a whole home generator was already installed when we bought. Dang thing is worth it’s weight in gold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Same. Woke up at 5. Checked the weather, heard the wind already going and went back to bed. Bummed but no point hunting in miserable weather. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Uhhhhhhhhh.... Are you saying I should return the bowling ball I bought my wife?
