  1. They are similar to one I already have, I love them.
  2. Uptown wont be answering any longer. Hes been warned about language and abusive behavior too many times.
  3. Im happy with my 2010 Hoyt Maxxis 35. Ill probably shoot it until I cant get parts for it anymore.
  4. Im not talking about "many other things". Im talking about a specific semi auto rifle that was perfectly legal to buy in NY until the SAFE Act was shoved through in the middle of the night for no legitimate reason. You asked a question, I answered it. You agreeing with it or not doesnt make it any less valid.
  5. I want to buy an FN SCAR. Cant because of the SAFE Act. Just one example, I could list more.
  6. What if your job requires use of your phone? Youd be surprised how common that is now days.
  7. Go back to the days of things being slow and cumbersome. Smart phones have brought so many things straight to your fingertips anytime you need it. It sure is nice to be able to make reservations for a hotel or dinner without having to look up a number in a phone book (as soon as you find one), call the place, flip through your paper organizer and write everything down, then call everyone that needs to be there and tell them to write it down. I just look it up on my phone, schedule it online with a quick form and save it to my calendar (which I live and die by with 2 kids playing hockey, travel for work, etc), then I could share the calendar entry with the people I need to so they know when it is. All done in 5 mins. Could I live without it? Sure, I lived most of my life without it, but its an enormous convenience that I personally dont want to go without.
  8. I dont know about that. I was always against kids having phones until they were of driving age, but I finally let my 12 year old daughter have one, and it helps out alot with things. You just have to be a parent, set limits and keep an eye on what they are doing, just like anything else.
  9. LOL, you guys sound like a bunch of old fogies from when I was a kid... "Back in my day we didnt have all of these new-fangled color televisions and cable TV. Parents just plop their kids in front of the boob-tube and use it as a babysitter." Technology has about as much to do with creating liberals or idiots as Saturday morning cartoons did back in the day. Those kinds of people have always been there. What technology has done, is allow those people to be more visible to everyone else. The numbers of them rise mostly because our population numbers rise.
  10. Yep, those things work great to repair hub blinds. I did the same thing a couple of years ago to a blind I have. Thought I posted it on here.
  11. That stuff is mostly rye grass, isnt it? Youd be better off getting some winter rye (not the same thing as rye grass) and maybe throw a little clover and/or turnip seed in with it. It will grow with a minimum of ground work. Granted you may not get the optimal results that way, but it will do alright. You can make a better mix yourself for cheaper than that stuff. Spend the extra cash on fertilizer/lime.
  12. They tear them up in my neck of the woods. My plots look like bulldozers have been going through them right now. They usually eat the greens and small bulbs first, and then dig up the other bulbs later in the winter. I usually use a 30% rape, 30% Groundhog Radish, 40% Purple Top Turnip mix that I put together myself using seed from the local AG store. Ive had great luck with it the last few years. I have also used SplitG2's seed mixes with great results.
  13. So I got back from a week long work trip yesterday and checked my bait pile cam. Looks like I hit the coyote last week for sure, must have nicked him. Hes sporting a limp now, but seems to be getting around just fine. Hopefully I can bust him out there again and finish what I started.
  14. So I found a bunch of hair where the coyote was when I took the shot. It rained a bit yesterday so no blood. I covered about 30ish yards of thick stuff nearby, but no luck.
  15. I will find out when I get home from work. Took a quick look after the shot, if I hit him I think he went into the thick stuff below our pond.
  16. Maybe someday when it drops in price, bot for now I will probably just be sticking with regular optics and lights.
  17. $1k vs $5-6k? To shoot foxes and coyotes with pretty much zero payback? No thanks lol
  18. Yes, the flash from the brake blinds you. Found that out this morning.
