Sorry, but you painting anyone that would like to use a crossbow as lazy is just plain silly. I wouldnt call someone that works 60+ hours a week, has to maintain a household, kids, etc lazy because they want to hunt during archery season but dont have the time to practice much with a vertical bow. Not everyone has the same luxuries as you, some people do all of that on their own, and dont have a wife/husband to share the load. Other people have injuries that prevent them from practicing, etc. Doesnt make them lazy. Its the same deal as many people dont have the time to practice with a recurve, so they opt for a compound. Id rather see people like that grab a crossbow and have a much better chance at putting a good shot on a deer rather than stick an arrow in the deer, have it run off and have the non hunting public see it walking around wounded with an arrow sticking out of its neck.

Those posts make sense? I see youre right back to the name calling, same as always. Bottom line is, I posted written emails from the DEC to backup what Ive been told over and over, and you cant back up your statements, so you whine and piss and moan like usual. This has nothing to do with me being right, its just me passing along the info Ive been given straight from the horses mouth. You can never admit when youre wrong, so you start calling me names, etc.

WNYBuckHunter's Outdoor Journal

Sitting here at work chomping at the bit. I have a 3 day weekend ahead and no kids, plus my sons hockey practice got cancelled. Weather is shaping up to be pretty darn good. Monday is looking a tad warm, but as long as the rain holds off during the day it will be good. A buddy texted last night with pics of a bloody arrow. Hoping to hear some good news this morning from him. -
They hunted our place this week, on Wednesday. A couple of the guys hunted while they were there and saw alot of deer, but no opportunities at them. I get all kinds of trail cam pics and videos of the hounds running around.

Yep, Ive been covered up in deer right at dusk on every evening hunt this year besides 2. The one evening we had to sit there for a half hour before the deer cleared out enough for us to sneak out.

Rage broadheads turned me into a believer today

I vacuum seal all of mine, and have had some of it for 2 1/2 years and it was fine. As long as you keep it frozen and the freezer frost off of it, it will stay good for more than 2 years. -
Theres nothing in the regs that says you cant be out there after dark. Just cant legally shoot a deer past sunset. As has been said, sounds like he has permission to be there, not much you can do. Harassing him would put you on the same level as him.

If I see them drop, theres obviously no reason to wait. If not, Ill usually still get down and look at the point of impact, and take a peek at my arrow if we are talking bow hunting. Hair, blood, etc at the POI can tell you alot about the situation. If I cant see the animal down, Ill give it 30 to 45 mins before trailing if it looks like a good hit. If it seems to be a gut shot, Ill give it a few hours.

Not playing dumb, just dont understand either of your previous two posts, as they were gibberish.

I try to fix my own stuff when it breaks, troubleshooting is usually pretty simple, and parts are fairly inexpensive. If its something i dont feel comfortable or have the time to mess with, I call my repair guy. He is usually pretty fast and will tell me if its worth fixing or not before he gets too far into it.

Thats what happens when you are busy with your own business.

Where do you keep your bow while on stand?
WNYBuckHunter replied to ATbuckhunter's topic in Bow Hunting
These are what we use. Cost about $1.50 each. -
The author left the fact that unbred does will come back into heat until they are bred.

Jinx Culver. You owe me a coke

110% agree with that.

Why?

Having just sat through a gun course, I can tell you they dont cover them much at all. In fact, the instructor spent more time calling bow hunters trophy hunting nut jobs and talking about how goofy and awkward crossbows were than he did giving actual information that the class needed to know about them for the test. It was pretty sad, I had to sit there and bite my lip quite a bit during the class. I want them to be legal all of bow season, and they should just be added to the bow class. At least they teach you something about blood trailing, shot placement, etc.

Hope you get better soon Doc. If you need someone to keep your best hunting spots warm till gun season, just let me know.
