  1. Goes to show ya just how nutty they get during the rut. Crazy that they caught that on video.
  2. My buddy has the Firestorm. I wouldn't bother with a lower end one. You'll want the dual speakers. Last year I picked up the Flextone Echo HD and I love it, but will eventually get a Firestorm so I can add/remove sounds. The Echo has 100 sounds dual speakers and a remote. It costs less than the Spitfire and has more features. If you are just getting into e-callers, I would highly recommend it.
  3. I put mine out on coyote bait, and the batteries drain a little faster when it gets real cold. I'll just be running my cam with rechargeable battery packs this year.
  4. He's gonna be something to see next year!
  5. Nice! Just bought one of your calls BTW, cant wait to put it to the test in the next couple of weeks!
  6. Ok, Ill let my better half know that Im planning on going Saturday then.
  7. I have compassion and respect for any animal I kill, but I do not feel remorse or regret for killing them. If I did, I wouldnt hunt. I love watching, hunting and interacting with deer, but I dont feel the least bit bad killing them. Now I do feel bad if I wound a deer, and it doesnt die quickly, but that feeling goes away as soon as I finish it off. Once the deer is down, I dont pray to or for it or tell it im sorry, I get the animal dressed out and begin getting the work done that comes with taking an animal. Im a big softy when it comes to alot of things, but hunting is not one of them.
  8. He is right, they had the option when I called in my tags for ML season.
  9. Thats odd, you see guys bringing their guns in to sell all the time. Never heard of that law. Thanks for the heads up. If thats the way it is, the shows shouldnt be letting guys bring the guns in with the signs and such.
  10. Hey Culver, which day you want to go? Im gonna take the 870 with a sign on it and see if someone bites. Gotta pick up the daughter's 22 also.
  11. Oh come on, you dont like going out on a nice, windy, 10 degree snow filled night in late January to shine a light around while listening to the electronic squeals of a dying bunny????
  12. How many times do I have to tell you, we dont have any big deer in Ontario County!!!
  13. Yep, major trails, etc dont change that much and you could compare the new trails and scrapes to the ones from this year. Might give you even more info.
  14. I would also consider a trade for a stainless (or weather guard) TC Encore Pro Hunter Muzzle loader.
  15. I would consider a partial trade on a TC Encore Pro Hunter Muzzle Loader in stainless or Weather Guard finish.
  16. No problem. I started messing with that stuff during this past summer but got too busy to do it properly, so I didnt finish. I plan on getting more of it done over the winter, while the trails, scrapes, etc are still visible.
  17. Not sure, but there are plenty of GPS plotting Apps out there, should be one available for iPhones. Google Maps is available, but all you really need on the phone is the GPS plotting App. You want one that you can upload the data to your PC and then integrate that data with Google maps, etc.
  18. Might be neat. You can do the same thing with My Tracks and Google Maps for free. All you do is walk deer trails with My Tracks running and it plots it out in Google Maps for you. You set different types of markers for scrapes, rubs, etc. Ill be interested to see what they put together though. Would be really cool if you could add trail cam positions and link your pictures taken from those cams to markers on the map.
  19. Disagree about what? A deer can jump the string on a fast bow, thats a fact, and has been documented on many occasions. I believe there was a video posted on this site during early archery season of a deer jumping the string at 15 or less yards on a brand new Mission bow, which shoots far faster than a recurve. Most of the high hits you hear about (lost the deer, over the spine, shot over the deer's back) are more than likely examples of deer jumping the string. Thats why no matter what bow you are shooting, you should be aiming at the lower 1/3 of the deer. Happens to everyone at some point. It is what it is, not looking to argue.
