  1. Not sure, havent seen him in a couple of weeks. I am going to put some cams back out after the first of the year, when I start pulling stands and doing my post season scouting.
  2. Nice apples. Baiting trail cams is just as illegal as hunting over a bait pile.
  3. The 5 year plan was accepted, it is no longer a proposal.
  4. Well, seeing as you are supposed to report the date it was taken, and not recovered, Id have to say its the same type of thing as tracking (pursuing, or hunting) after dark. You have a responsibility to make every effort to recover your deer.
  5. I use a 223 with 55 grain bullets. Ive been using Remington Core-Lokts. Hornady V-Max is also a great round. The safety aspect is more important to me, I wont shoot FMJs hunting.
  6. I have one thats either a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 hanging in the garage right now, and its not the first one Ive taken. I had one that the DEC aged at 4 1/2 and she weighed 168lbs. I actually do try and target specific does. We have one running around by my dads place that I call the Grey Witch, because shes an old, spooky, very grey colored doe thats gotta be 6 1/2 or older, I mean she is an absolute slob of a doe. Ive been after her for 2 years, and she's sharp as a tack. My dad saw her Sunday, so it looks like she made it for another season.
  7. sbuff, I hear ya, but I am thinking that consolidation might be better. Ill probably even get a rifle barrel in 30-06 for the Pro Hunter, so I have everything Ill ever need for big game in one gun. Before I buy it anywhere new, Ill be searching the gun show for one thats a year or two old.
  8. Yes you did, and I was listening. The Black Diamond is a great gun, just not for my one and only.
  9. Or you could shoot it into a safe backstop. Firing rounds off into the air is a big gun safety no no.
  10. The more I look at it, the more I think I may even get rid of my current Encore, ML and Shotgun and go with the stainless Pro Hunter, then get the pistol barrel and grip/forend in 260 Rem. That way I would consolidate everything I need for deer into 1 package, all stainless. Downside to it would be only having 1 gun lol.
  11. Thanks. The only TC besides the Pro Hunter I may consider is the Triumph. The Omega is not a break action and the Impact does not come in stainless. I am going to look at the Traditions guns. CVA, I just keep hearing mixed reviews of, but the Accura is on my list of guns to look at. I wont buy an NEF.
  12. Thats a pretty gun Doe, but 11lbs without a scope? The Pro Hunter is like 8 lol.
  13. I know, I know. Youre gonna have to bring your Encore out so I can throw a few rounds through it to make sure thats what I want though.
  14. Thats the one I am eyeballing. I already have an Encore (not the pro hunter) thats currently setup as a pistol, and I love it. I want something stainless or else I would just get the barrel and stock for my Encore. Just want to get a an idea of what else is out there before I drop 5 or 6 hundred on the Pro Hunter.
  15. I have a TC Black Diamond ML in 50 cal that I got to use for this season. It is in great shape, stainless with black composite stock and fiber sights. A scope can be mounted. Gun will come with all required tools and a couple of different breech plug adapters. Currently it is setup for 209 primers. Its a nice, light inline, and served me well getting into muzzleloaders. $200
  16. Ok, so now that I am set that I will be using a ML for all of gun and ML season from here on out, I am going to purchase a nice break action, as my TC Black Diamond is not exactly what I want. Its a nice gun, but if I will be using only a ML, I want something a little easier to clean and maintain. I wanted to get your opinions on what guns to look at. Here are my must haves... -Stainless -Sealed breach -50 cal -Weight will be a big consideration The rest, like what type of stock, barrel fluting, etc wont be as important. I will buy the gun without a scope unless I get some super deal, and will be adding Leupold twist on bases and a Vortex scope of my choosing. Lets hear your opinions, all will be appreciated....
  17. Take notice of this one, found on the second page... "On November 22, Cody R. Cullinan, age 27, of Rochester, was charged with 2 separate counts of failing to properly tag deer. ECOs John Lutz and Brian Wade were alerted after Cullinan posted pictures online of 3 dead antlered deer. Cullinan was issued appearance tickets answerable to the Town of Avon and faces fines of up to $500 and up to 30 days in jail." You think DEC doesnt watch these types of sites?
  18. This has been published by the DEC and sent to me by another member to be posted. region 8 deer cases.pdf
  19. While my doe sightings were down a bit, I think it had more to do with too much pressure on the farm I hunted. I saw some does and a bunch of bucks on that farm. At the other spot I normally hunt, I saw the usual crap load of does and a couple of bucks, par for that area. The only other spot I hunted was the same as its always been, but I dont spend enough time there to have an opinion if its better or worse. All 3 areas are within 8H, and Id say the deer population is high, as per usual.
  20. The fiance is getting some nice diamond earrings and some other smaller stuff. Daughter is getting the TC kids size 22, an RC truck she asked for along with a ton of girlie things like clothes, kids jewlery and 4 tickets to a Sabres game. The little one is getting a bunch of toys. My dad is impossible to buy for and I still havent figured that out yet. My mom got framed pics of the kids and some other things sent to her. All I asked for were trail cams, and I dont really care what I get, if anything. Not a big deal to me.
  21. You ever see pics of him in college before he went into WWE? He was a beast then too. From High School through college wrestling, the guy was 139-0-5. Probably one of if not the best wrestlers ever, and Im talking real wrestling, not WWE crap.
